NOVEMBER 2009
We had a wonderful Fall Meeting at the First
Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan.
Each service was blessed of the Lord and the men who preached all
did a great job. Several of
our young pastors spoke and their messages were all a special blessing.
I believe the future of the World Baptist Fellowship is in good
hands. The Mission Store
was, as always, a special blessing to our missionaries and we had a good
Special Mission Offering. Although
the offering goal was not reached, we believe there will be more
offerings to come in and that ultimately we will reach the goal.
The Wednesday evening service was a special
blessing for our missionaries present at the meeting.
Each missionary was escorted into the auditorium by one of the
church’s young people who carried the flag of the missionaries’
field. The deacons of the
church formed an honor guard, each holding up his Bible as the
missionaries walked by. A
short biography of each missionary and their work was read and upon
reaching the platform, each man was presented with a Scofield Bible and
each lady was given a beautiful piece of jewelry by the church.
The missionaries were honored and humbled by this expression of
love and respect.
As you plan your missionary conference, if you
would like us to inform the missionaries of the dates, please let us
know and we will forward the information to them.
Our furlough and deputation missionaries will be a blessing to
each church that invites them for a meeting.
Betty
Hawkins is doing well following surgery for breast cancer.
She is having some pain, but it is not too bad at this point.
They are still waiting for the biopsy report on the lymph nodes
that were removed. Further
treatment will be decided upon after these reports come back.
Please continue to pray for Betty.
Debi
Harris is recovering from a second surgical procedure on her
esophagus. She is doing well
at this time, but further procedures will be needed in the future.
Please pray for a good recovery for Debi.
Little Eliana
Densmore was in a very critical condition but is now somewhat
improved. She stopped
breathing, her heart stopped beating and it took them eight minutes to
revive her. We thank the
Lord that it appears there was no brain damage from the loss of oxygen,
but she is still hospitalized and it will be at least two more weeks
before they will consider letting her go home.
Please continue to pray for Eliana and for Brian and Joy and the
boys.
Doyle
Whaley continues to struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease and
deafness. It is very hard
for Wanda as she cares for him at home and they both need your prayers.
Please pray for these missionaries who have ongoing
physical problems, but who continue faithfully in the work:
Linda Carruth, Jodell
Powers, Rebecca
Hawkins, Joe
Hawkins, Elaine Hawkins, Mary
Gagnon, Monnie Bacon, Gary
Bacon, Ernie Brown,
Gloria Higgins, Abigail
Mitchell, Amber Cato, Dana
McCutchen, Sandy Janky,
Charlene Neill, Mike
Lane.
Thank you to each church and individual who prays
for our missionaries and supports them so faithfully.
We also thank each one who has a part in supporting the General
Fund, and for those who participated in the Special Mission Offering.
This makes our ongoing ministry on behalf of the missionaries
possible, and we are very grateful.
