APRIL 2009
Let me take this opportunity to invite you to
attend this year’s World Baptist Fellowship May Meeting, which will be
held at Arlington Baptist College on May 11-14, 2009.
This will be a very special meeting as we honor Dr. and Mrs.
David Bryant on their retirement from Arlington Baptist College.
Dr. Bryant has served faithfully for 16 years as President of the
College. We pray for God’s
blessings on Dr. and Mrs. Bryant in their future service for the Lord.
We will also welcome the College’s new President, Dr. D. L.
Moody, at this May meeting. He
will need our prayers as he begins his ministry as leader of our
college.
It is not too early to begin to make your plans for
the WBF Fall Meeting that will take place October 12-14, 2009 at the
First Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan.
Pastor Ray Haselhuhn has chosen the theme, “Remembering God”,
and he and the church are making preparations for a great meeting there
in October.
John
& Marjorie Malanowski have returned to Indonesia for their next
term of service. Pray for
them that the Lord will continue to bless their ministry there on the
island of Bali.
Terry,
Tami and Tobijah Morse are in route to French Polynesia on their
boat. Pray for their safety
as they sail to the islands and for their ministry there.
We have several special prayer requests for this
month:
Little
Eliana Densmore has once again been diagnosed with pancreatitis and,
at this writing, is in the Children’s Hospital in Denver, CO and in a
great deal of pain. This
little one has struggled for her entire life with illness and has
suffered greatly. Please
pray for her recovery and for her parents, Brian and Joy Densmore.
As most of you know, Doyle
Whaley has been struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease, plus several
other problems. In addition
to these, he has now lost his hearing and is completely deaf.
This is a difficult situation for him and for Wanda as she cares
for him. She can only
communicate with him by writing notes, and the Alzheimer’s makes his
reading comprehension difficult. Please
pray much for Doyle and Wanda.
Jodell
Powers is doing well in recovery from cancer surgery.
The doctors feel that they got all the cancer and anticipate that
she will continue to do well. She
will have several more reconstruction surgeries in the next few months
and needs all our prayers for a complete recovery.
Joe
Hawkins fainted while working and fell, breaking his collarbone.
He is doing well and the doctors are doing tests to try to
determine the cause of his fainting.
Pray for him and for Elaine as she cares for him.
Debi
Harris, Dale Brown,
Linda Carruth, Mary
Gagnon, Monnie Bacon, Gloria
Higgins, Mike
Lane, Charlene Neill, Darla
Brim, Amber Cato, Sandy
Janky, Dana
McCutchen all need our prayers as they battle ongoing physical
problems.
Thank you for your continued faithfulness in prayer
and financial support for our missionaries around the world and for us
here at the Mission Office.
