The World Baptist Fellowship Fall Meeting at
Mt.
Zion
Baptist
Church
in
Jasper
,
Georgia
was a tremendous blessing. God
met with us in a special way and there was a real spirit of revival in
each service. Every speaker
blessed us with a wonderful message from the Word of God.
The
Mt.
Zion
Baptist
Church
choir, under the direction of Bro. Wally Bearden, thrilled and uplifted
our hearts with their singing. Our
missionaries gave informative field reports and challenged us to do all
that we can to reach the world with the Gospel.
The Mission Store was also a great blessing.
Each missionary was able to select many very nice items and we
had 25 boxes of merchandise left over to restock our mission store room
here at the Office. We
exceeded our goal in the Special Mission Offering with a total offering
of over $51,000. Thanks to
every church and individual that helped us reach and exceed our goal.
We offer a special “THANK YOU” to Pastor Ben Langley, the
church staff, and the
Mt.
Zion
church family for doing such a wonderful job of hosting the meeting.
Next year’s meeting will take place at the
Trinity
Baptist
Church
in
Big Spring
,
Texas
on
October 13-15, 2008
. Mark your calendar now and
make plans to attend next year’s Fall Meeting.
One of the things that was most emphasized at the
Fall Meeting was the need for more laborers for the field.
Let us re-dedicate ourselves in praying to the Lord of the
harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest (Matt.
9:38
).
Ed
and Cindee Richards have returned to the field of
Dominica
,
West Indies
, for their next term of service. Tommy,
Kannika and Austin Tucker have returned to
Thailand
for their next term. Pray
for these families as they resume their work for the Lord.
Coming for furlough this month are Alton
& Helen Smith from
Brazil
, Rick &
Jackie Washburn from
Colombia
, and John
& Marjorie Malanowski from
Indonesia
. Pray for these folks as
they take care of last minute details and travel to the U. S.
Pray for our missionaries who are ill:
Phil Gagnon is
recovering from surgery on his neck.
Pray for a quick recovery for Bro. Gagnon.
Ernie Brown is
undergoing treatment and will possibly have surgery before they begin
their furlough. Little
Eliana Densmore continues to grow stronger but has a long way to go
in her battle with the metabolic disease.
Amber Cato in
Brazil
is doing better in her battle with epilepsy.
Doyle Whaley is
undergoing treatment for a breathing problem.
His heart cath showed no blockage, however, for which we praise
the Lord. The following
missionaries serve the Lord faithfully in spite of ongoing physical
problems: Debi
Harris, Mary Gagnon,
Monnie Bacon, Gloria
Higgins, Juanita
Bowen, Sammy Jo Myers
(still cancer free!), Joe
Hawkins, Wanda Whaley,
Dana McCutchen, Kyron
Horton, Mary Horton, Sandy
Janky, Charlene Neill.
Pray for all of these missionaries.
We are so thankful that in addition to the
wonderful Special Mission Offering, several churches have either
increased support for the General Fund or have begun to support the
General Fund. This is such a
blessing to us here in the Mission Office as we strive to be faithful to
serve those who serve in the Regions Beyond.
THANK YOU!
Tommy Raley
