OCTOBER 2007
October is an important month for us at the World
Baptist Fellowship Mission Agency.
Each October our WBF Fall Meeting takes place, which emphasizes
the work of our missionaries and the Mission Office.
This year’s meeting will take place October 15-17, 2007 at the
Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia.
The theme of the meeting is “MISSIONS NOW – REACH THE WORLD
WHILE THERE IS TIME”.
Certainly the time is growing shorter for us to
fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord. While
we do not know, and should not speculate about the time of His coming,
we do know that it is nearer now than ever before.
We are certainly in the “last days” of this present church
age. In addition to the
shorter time we have to reach the world, the world’s population
continues to grow at an outstanding rate.
Every day the population of our planet increases by more than
210,000 people. Not only is
the population of the world exploding, but also more and more
missionaries are reaching the age when they can no longer continue on
the foreign field. Very few
missionaries retire until they are physically unable to remain on the
field. A good number stay
on the field until they are called into the presence of the Lord.
They have such a love for the lost souls on their particular
fields that they literally give their entire lives to try to reach them
with the Gospel. A very
large percentage of those who are forced to retire due to physical
problems continue in cross-cultural ministry here in the U. S.
There is just no way that these faithful warriors can keep from
trying to serve the Lord in whatever capacity they can.
Please join in prayer not only for these faithful missionaries,
but also that the Lord will continue to call out young men and women to
go to the regions beyond with the Gospel.
As always in the past, “the harvest truly is plenteous, but the
labourers are few.” In
addition to prayer, pastors and missionaries can redouble their efforts
to challenge young people in our churches to surrender their lives to
the Will of God. When that full surrender is made to the Lord, He will lead
many to a missionary ministry. Programs like Mission Quest will be used
of the Lord to introduce young people to the mission field and challenge
them as never before. New
plans at Arlington Baptist College will further challenge young people
and prepare them for service on the mission field.
What is most needed is the exposure of young people in our
churches to the challenge of reaching the world with the Gospel.
Young people need to be presented with the opportunity of full
time Christian service as the most important opportunity in their lives.
Please pray for our missionaries who are
experiencing health problems. Eliana
Densmore, Amber Cato, Debi
Harris, Monnie Bacon, Mary
Gagnon, Gloria Higgins,
Joe Hawkins, Sandy
Janky, Juanita Bowen,
Charlene Neill, Doyle
and Wanda Whaley all continue their battles with illness and need
our faithful prayers.
Thank you for your prayers, your faithful financial
support and your encouragement to our missionary families and to us who
serve here in the WBF Mission Office.
We are ever mindful that our service to the Lord is made possible
by your prayers and financial sacrifices.
May the Lord’s blessings continue to be upon you as you
faithfully serve Him.
