NEWSLETTER
AUGUST 2007

By the time most of you receive this month’s newsletter, the Candidate Seminar and Mission Family Retreat for 2007 will be history.  I am excited about the new missionaries who will be joining our mission family and I will introduce them in next month’s newsletter.  While we are thankful for these new members of our mission family, the need is so very great for more missionaries.  Please join in fervent prayer to the Lord of the harvest that He will continue to call men and women and that they will respond to the call.

Work is under way to improve and enlarge the Missions Department at Arlington Baptist College.  When the program is complete, it will give us one of the best Mission Departments of any Bible College in America.  Bro. Brian Powers will dedicate himself to the task of adding new missions courses and outside mission assignments to the curriculum and I believe it will offer top-quality preparation to those who answer the call of God for missions and who choose to attend Arlington Baptist College for their training.  Pray for Bro. Powers that the Lord will use him in a special way in this new ministry.

Larry and Barbara Koehn have arrived from Chile to begin their furlough.  Bro. Larry looks well and we thank the Lord that he is now recovered from his illness.  They will soon be visiting their supporting churches.  Mike and Debbie Lane have arrived from Honduras for a six-month furlough.  Pray for them as they begin their furlough ministry as well.  Judy Wood has arrived from Brazil and Lanny will arrive the first week of August for furlough.  They will begin their furlough by celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on August 25, 2007.

Please continue to pray for baby Eliana Densmore.  She is making slow but steady progress, although there will be a long period of treatments that she will need as the doctors refine the diet and other care it will take for her.  We thank the Lord that she is in Denver, Colorado where one of the world’s leading specialists in metabolic disorders is treating her.  Pray also for the following missionaries who are battling illness as they continue in the work:  Ernie Brown, Debi Harris, Monnie Bacon, Gloria Higgins, Charlene Neill, Mary Gagnon, Joe Hawkins, Sandy Janky, Doyle Whaley, Wanda Whaley, Dana McCutchen, Juanita Bowen, Amber Cato.

Pray for the coming 2007 WBF Fall Meeting, October 15-17, 2007 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia.  We are asking the Lord to give us a wonderful meeting with excellent attendance, great fellowship, a good Mission Store, and a Special Mission Offering that will meet or exceed our goal of $50,000.

Thank you for your prayers and your faithful financial support.  Your investment in the lives and ministry of our missionary families makes possible their ministry on the field; and your prayers and financial support for the General Fund make possible our ministry in service to the missionaries.  THANK YOU! THANK YOU!  THANK YOU

Tommy Raley
