JULY 2007
We are making preparations for our annual Candidate Seminar
and Mission Family Retreat. The
Seminar begins on July 25, 2007 here at the Mission Office and runs through
August 3, 2007. The Retreat will be
held August 6-9, 2007 at the Minnetonka Christian Camp in Clayton, Oklahoma.
Bro. and Mrs. Tom Crites and the staff at Minnetonka do a wonderful job
of hosting our retreat each summer. We
have special speakers and activities for the missionary families and also hold
the quarterly Mission Committee meeting during this time each summer.
Pray for this year’s seminar and retreat that the Lord will bless in a
special way. We are looking forward
to having new missionaries join our mission family.
Please continue to pray for little Eliana Densmore, the
baby daughter of Missionaries Brian
and Joy Densmore. Her condition is so rare that the doctors are literally
having to “learn as they go” in treating her.
She has had several very low points in the first month of her life, but
at this time it appears that she is improving.
Pray that the doctors will be able to successfully treat this little one
and that she will do well in the future. Pray
for Brian and Joy as well, as they wait on the Lord and His healing power.
The Tommy
Bowen family has returned to Ecuador for their next term of service.
Pray for them as they get settled down on the field and back into the
work there. The John
Hawkins family and Skip
Woodfin family have arrived for furlough.
Lanny & Judy Wood and Larry
& Barbara Koehn are scheduled to arrive this month for furlough.
The Ed Edington
family will begin furlough in August.
Please continue to pray for the following missionaries who
are battling illness: Ernie
Brown, Debi Harris, Monnie
Bacon, Gloria Higgins, Mary
Gagnon, Joe Hawkins,
Sandy Janky, Doyle
Whaley, Wanda Whaley, Dana
McCutchen, Juanita Bowen.
All of them are holding their own or improving at this time.
Begin now to make your plans to attend the WBF Fall
Meeting, which will be held October 15-17, 2007 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church
in Jasper, Georgia. Pastor Ben
Langley and the church family are preparing for a great meeting. There will be a great lineup of speakers, Christ honoring
music under the leadership of Bro. Wally Bearden, and challenging field reports
from our missionaries who will be present.
Please begin now to pray with us for a great meeting, a successful
Mission Store, and the Special Mission Offering. Our goal for this year’s offering is $50,000 and this is
vital to the ongoing ministry of the Mission Office.
A special thank you to those churches and individuals who
support our General Fund on a monthly basis.
Without you, our ministry of service to the missionary families around
the world would not be possible. About
100 churches and individuals have a part in monthly support for the General
Fund. Please pray about joining
these in helping us to serve those who serve in the Regions Beyond.
