MAY 2007
The World Baptist
Fellowship has two national meetings each year.
The May meeting is always held at Arlington Baptist College in
conjunction with the graduation ceremony. This
year’s meeting will feature tremendous preaching, Christ honoring music and
great fellowship. The graduating
class of 1967 will celebrate its 40th anniversary and the new ABC
Family and Friends will have its inauguration.
The dates of the meeting are May 14-17, 2007 and it will be wonderful to
see a great number of folks from around the country and around the world.
This is always a blessed and busy week for us because we hold a Mission
Committee meeting during the week, as well as the normal everyday business of
the Mission Office. The 2007 Fall Meeting will be held October 15-17, 2007 at the
Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia.
Dr. Ben Langley and the church family are already at work in preparation
for the meeting and it will be a good one.
Mark your calendar now and make your plans to attend both of these great
meetings.
Coming for furlough in May and
June will be Alan & Kathy Hart
from Portugal, Skip & Dana
Woodfin and children from Hawaii, John,
Rebecca and Daniel Hawkins from Brazil, and Ed
& Kayla Edington and children from Guatemala. Pray for these
families as they prepare to return to the States for furlough. Several others will arrive during the summer for furlough.
Please continue to pray for Jerry,
Bonnie and Timothy Bitner as they await the approval of their visas.
They cannot return to the field until this paperwork is completed and
they have been waiting now for several months for the approval of their visas.
Miss Betty Alice Hall will be
returning to the field soon as she completes her furlough travels.
Pray for her that the Lord will provide an increase in her monthly
support as she returns to the field.
Several of our missionaries are
in need of prayer due to illness. Miss
Karen Werth is recovering from gall bladder surgery. She made the short flight from Indonesia to Singapore for the
surgery because the medical facilities are so much better in Singapore.
Ernie Brown is having
some heart problems and is undergoing treatment in Ecuador.
Pray that his heart rate can be regulated with medication and that no
surgery will be required. Ben
Mock underwent a heart catherization and we praise the Lord that no blockage
was found. Doyle
Whaley in Guatemala has had some physical problems and is now improving. Others who deal with ongoing health problems and who need our
prayers are: Dana
McCutchen, Debi Harris, Monnie
Bacon, Gloria Higgins, Mary
Gagnon, Joe Hawkins,
Sandy Janky, Juanita
Bowen.
Thank you for your continuing faithfulness in prayer and
financial support for our missionary families around the world.
Financial support is needed and important, but the most important thing
we all can do for our missionaries is to uphold them in prayer.
God can and will provide every need, but He does so in answer to faithful
prayer. Your investment in the
lives and ministry of our missionaries is greatly appreciated.
