APRIL 2007
In our Sunday School class we have just begun a study of
the Gospel of John. In the first
few verses of Chapter One, the Apostle uses frequently the words, “life” and
“light”. He dogmatically states
that Jesus is “Life” and Jesus is “Light”.
Through the Gospel message and the believer’s faith, both light and
life come into his being. He
receives the life of the Lord Jesus (“…Christ, who is our life…-
Colossians 3:4). The believer also
receives the light of spiritual illumination.
This light is the witness in our lives that Christ is in our hearts.
We are to share this witness with the world.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).
Let us rejoice in the eternal life we have in Christ, and let our light
shine so that others can come to know Him.
Please continue to pray for the
visa situation of Jerry and Bonnie
Bitner. They are anxiously
awaiting the approval of their visas so they can get back to the field following
their furlough. Some of the
paperwork has been held up by the Department of Religion in Mexico.
Pray that this can quickly be resolved and they can leave for the field.
We are beginning to make
preparations for our annual Candidate Seminar and Mission Family Retreat, which
will take place at the end of July and the beginning of August.
Please pray for those who will be candidates, that all the details can be
worked out in the application process and we can see them join our mission
family in August.
We invite you to visit our
website (www.wbfi.net), where you can obtain
the latest information about our missionary families.
You can read a short biography of each family and also their latest
prayer letter. There is also a
great deal of information about the WBF Mission Agency, including our Doctrinal
Statement and Practices & Principles.
Pray for our missionaries who
are battling illness: Monoka
Brown, Juanita Bowen, Florence
McDonald, Saundra
Henderson, Helen Smith, Sandy
Janky are all recovering from surgery and all are doing well at this time.
Mary Horton, Monnie
Bacon, Debi Harris, Mary
Gagnon, Joe Hawkins,
Larry Koehn, Sammy
Jo Myers, Wanda Whaley, Dana
McCutchen all have ongoing health issues and need our prayers.
Please remember in your prayers
the Missionaries’ sons and daughters who are serving our country in the
military. Some are in combat areas
and especially need our prayers.
Thank you on behalf of each of
our missionary families for your ongoing faithfulness in prayer and financial
support. Each family realizes that
they could not serve the Lord in their place of ministry if it were not for your
faithfulness. We also thank each
church and individual believer who has a part in supporting the General Fund.
Your faithfulness makes it possible for us to continue our service on behalf of
our missionaries around the world. You
are appreciated!
