MARCH 2007
The
winter of 2006/2007 will go down in the books as one of the coldest and most
snow-filled on record. Scientists
talk about global warming, but the folks in the northern and western parts of
our country will have a hard time agreeing with that assessment.
Even here in the “sunny south” we have had our share of cold and icy
weather. The arrival of March gives
us a hope for spring with all the newness of life about us that it brings.
I love the springtime when the brown of winter turns to a beautiful green
and flowers begin to bloom. This
new life should remind us of the new life we have in Christ.
To know Christ is to have eternal spiritual springtime.
The truth of II Corinthians 5:17 should cause our hearts to rejoice:
“Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
We
welcome to our WBF Mission Family, Eric and Lynn Bass.
Eric and Lynn feel the call of God upon their lives to minister in a
restricted Islamic country. This
will require not only extreme and complete dedication on their part, but also
the dedicated and fervent prayers of God’s people for them.
They are willing to put their lives in danger to reach precious souls for
Christ. We should be ready and
willing to uphold them in our prayers and do all that is possible to help them
get to the field to which God has called them.
Please make them welcome in your church and make room in your heart to
call on God on their behalf.
Because
of the continuing and rapid growth of the Mission Quest ministry, Mike
and Christie Starling will begin to work with this ministry on a full-time
basis. Their goals for this
ministry are threefold: to
challenge men and women to surrender their lives to the call of God for a
missionary ministry; to give pastors and church members the opportunity to see
first hand what ministry and life on the mission field is like; to be a blessing
to missionaries and national churches and believers by helping them in the
ministry on their fields. If you
and your church would like to take a mission trip, please contact Bro. Starling
through the Mission Office at P. O. Box 13459, Arlington, TX 76094 (PH:
817-274-7161), or by e-mail at: mxgatorguy@netscape.net
Please
remember the following missionaries in prayer as they recover from surgery:
Monoka Brown, Juanita
Bowen, Florence McDonald,
Saundra Henderson, Helen
Smith, Sandy Janky.
These
missionaries battle health issues on a daily basis and need your prayers:
Debi Harris, Monnie
Bacon, Mary Horton, Mary
Gagnon, Joe Hawkins,
Larry Koehn, Sammy
Jo Myers, Wanda Whaley.
We
are thankful to God and each faithful church and individual Christian who
upholds our missionary family in prayer and who has a part in ongoing financial
support. Each of our missionaries,
and also we here at the Mission Office, realize that we are co-laborers together
with God in His great work of world evangelization. It is God’s work; therefore, it cannot fail.
Thank you for helping to reach lost souls around the world with the
wonderful Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
