NEWSLETTER
OCTOBER 2005
If you have not already made your plans to attend the 2005
Fall Meeting of the World Baptist Fellowship, please do so now.
The time is fast approaching for this year’s meeting, which will take
place October 17-19, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan.
There is a wonderful lineup of speakers and this will be one of the best
meetings ever. It will be even
better if you are present for the meeting.
We regret to announce that Charlie and Heather Smith have
submitted their resignation as WBF Missionaries to the Virgin Islands.
They are seeking a place of ministry here in the United States.
Please pray for them that the Lord will open a door of opportunity for
them.
Pray for Justin McCutchen, the son of WBF Missionaries Mark
and Dana McCutchen. Justin was
deployed to Iraq in September. Pray
that the Lord will keep him safe during his deployment.
Michael Hart, son of Alan and
Kathy Hart in Portugal, will also be deployed to Iraq before the end of the
year. We have other MK’s
who are in the military and who are subject to deployment.
Please remember all these fine young people in your prayers.
Matt and Flor
Patton are looking forward to entering Cuba in late October to begin their
ministry there. Matt has completed
his language study in Mexico and they are eager to get on the field.
Pray for them as they reach souls for Christ in Cuba.
Pray for our missionaries who are ill:
Miss Bessie Millican
continues to cling to life in Gonzalez, Mexico.
She is receiving wonderful care from Miss Gayle Sparks and three Mexican
ladies who help her. Pray for Miss
Bessie as she waits on the Lord’s will to be done in her life. Sandy Janky
desperately needs knee surgery, but the doctors here in Arlington will not do
the surgery due to her lung and heart problems.
She will be seeing a special team of doctors in Dallas and hopes that
they will be able to do the surgery. She
has so much pain in her knee that even with the aid of a walker she can barely
get around. Pray that this needed
surgery can be performed. Jack
Weaver continues his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in the
long-term care facility in Longview, Texas.
He has recently been battling pneumonia and is very weak.
His spirits and wonderful sense of humor remain strong, however.
At her last checkup, Sammy
Jo Myers was cancer free. Pray
that the cancer will remain in remission. The
Myers have been able to resume their deputation ministry. Pray for them that they can soon raise their needed support
for the field of Mali, West Africa. Joe
Hawkins has had difficulty with the Coumadin level in his blood in his
ongoing treatment for blood clots. Pray
that they will be able to get this regulated.
Wanda Whaley is
improving in her recovery from open-heart surgery.
Juanita Bowen is
doing well in her recovery from neck surgery.
Betty
Hawkins, Monnie Bacon,
Gloria Higgins, Mary
& Phil Gagnon, Debi
Harris all continue their daily battles with illness as they faithfully
serve the Lord in spite of their illnesses.
Pray for all these missionaries that the Lord will grant to them the
measure of health they need in order to continue to serve the Lord.
Our entire Missionary Family and also we here at the
Mission Office are grateful to every church and individual Christian who hold us
up in prayer and who have a part in the financial support that is necessary for
the furtherance of the Gospel in the regions beyond. You and your investment in our lives and ministry are very
much appreciated.
