NEWSLETTERJULY 2005
During the month of July we will hold our annual
Candidate Seminar in which we meet with our prospective new missionaries and
help to orient them concerning the ministry of deputation and life on the
mission field. We spend ten
days of intense effort in an attempt to give them as much information and help
as possible for the great task that lies before them.
It is always a blessed time and we enjoy helping these new missionaries. Phyllis
Jackson was married on June 18, 2005 to Mr. Daniel Franks at the Arlington
Baptist College Fine Arts Chapel. They
will make their home in Crossville, Tennessee.
Phyllis was a part of the WBF Mission Family for 39 years and we wish her
every happiness and the blessings of God upon her new life with Daniel. Jack and Jo
Weaver celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 18, 2005.
All their children and almost all their grandchildren were able to be
present for this special occasion. Bro.
Weaver’s condition has worsened and it will be necessary for him to move to a
nursing home facility. This was a
very hard decision for them and Bro. and Mrs. Weaver need your prayers. Charlie
and Heather Smith welcomed a new daughter to their family.
Abby Faith Smith was born on June 13, 2005.
Abby is doing fine, but Heather has had some complications following the
birth. Please pray for her as she
recovers. The David Cato
family left on June 9, 2005 for Brazil and Jerry
and Atalias Lantz departed on June 21, 2005 for their next term of service
in Brazil. The Skip
Woodfin family has returned to Hawaii following a two-month furlough.
Pray for these three families as they get settled and into the work on
the field. The Shawn
Sullivan family has arrived from the Ukraine, the John
Yelle family has arrived from Brazil, the John
Horton family has arrived from Brazil, and Phil
and Mary Gagnon have arrived from Honduras.
Pray for these families as they purchase vehicles, arrange housing and
schooling for their children and begin their furlough travels. Arriving during July will be the Ben
Mock family from Ecuador, the Jerry
Bitner family from Mexico and the Terry
Morse family from France. Pray
for them as they travel to the U. S. Pray for the following missionaries who have health
problems: Bessie
Millican, Debi Harris, Monnie
Bacon, Gloria Higgins, Mary
Gagnon, Phil Gagnon, Joe
Hawkins, Betty Hawkins,
Sandy Janky, Sammy
Jo Myers, Ericka
Washburn, Juanita Bowen, Charles
Bowen, Heather Smith. Thank you for your investment in the lives and ministry
of our missionary families. Thanks,
also, to each church that has a part in the support of the General Fund.
Your support makes it possible for us to serve our missionary families
around the world. We could not carry on our ministry on their behalf without
your faithfulness. Since July 2, 2005 you are
