JUNE 2005
We enjoyed a blessed time of fellowship at the World
Baptist Fellowship May meeting at the Arlington Baptist College.
It is always a thrill and blessing to see old friends who are continuing
to serve the Lord, both here in the U. S. and around the world.
We had a nice representation of our WBF Missionaries present at the
meeting, and we were privileged to honor the following missionaries with special
recognition: Joe
& Elaine Hawkins – 49 years in Brazil; Lonnie
& Jo Ann King – 48 years in Spain; Phyllis
Jackson – 39 years in Brazil; Saundra
Henderson – 38 years in Brazil. Mrs.
Jill Botticelli of Arlington Baptist College prepared a special video
presentation that highlighted and featured the ministry of each of our WBF
missionary families. It was a special blessing.
Mrs. Botticelli is preparing copies of the presentation for any churches
that would like them. You may order
them from her at the college (Phone: 817-461-8741).
We are happy to report that Phyllis
Jackson will be married to Mr. Daniel Franks on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at
the Arlington Baptist College chapel. Daniel
and Phyllis will make their home in Crossville, Tennessee.
Please pray for them as they begin their life together.
Carlos and
Marie Tapia have submitted their resignation as World Baptist Fellowship
missionaries to the Hispanics. Bro.
Tapia will continue in the ministry, but he feels that it is best for them at
this time to submit their resignation. Please
pray for them as they seek the Lord’s will for their lives.
Tim and Becky Billups have also presented their
resignation as World Baptist Fellowship missionaries to Chile. Bro. Tim is seeking to serve the Lord as a pastor or
assistant pastor here in the U. S. Pray
that the Lord will open a door of service to them and that He will continue to
use Bro. and Mrs. Billups here in the States.
David &
Diane Cato and girls are scheduled to leave for Brazil on June 9, 2005.
Pray for them as they make their move to the field and get settled into
the work. Jerry
& Atalias Lantz will be returning to Brazil at the end of June for their
next term of service. Atalias has
received the extension on her papers that they were waiting for.
John & Neila Yelle and
their girls will be arriving on June 21, 2005 from Brazil for their furlough.
Pray for them as they take care of all the last minute details and make
their trip. John
& Isabel Horton and children will also be coming from Brazil for their
furlough. Terry
& Tami Morse and children will be coming from France in July.
Ben & Jane Mock will
begin their furlough from Ecuador in July.
Phil & Mary Gagnon
will take a six month furlough from Honduras.
Shawn & Amy Sullivan
and children are coming from the Ukraine for their furlough in July as well.
Pray for all these folks as they make their travel plans.
Pray for the following missionaries who are ill:
Miss Bessie Millican,
Jack Weaver, Charles
Bowen, Juanita Bowen, Doyle
Whaley, Wanda Whaley, Phil
Gagnon, Mary Gagnon, Monnie Bacon,
Gloria Higgins, Debi
Harris, Joe Hawkins,
Elaine Hawkins, Sammy
Jo Myers, Sandy Janky, Gary Janky,
Ericka Washburn.
Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for our
missionary families, and also for your faithful financial support.
Our missionaries depend on the faithfulness of God’s people in these
two vital areas and would be unable to fulfill the Lord’s will for their lives
without you. We also thank each one
who prays for us here at the Mission Office and each church that has a part in
supporting our General Fund. This
enables us to serve our missionary families as they labor around the world.
