MAY 2005
For thirty years, Dr. Dale Chambers served faithfully on
the World Baptist Fellowship Mission Committee; twenty years as Chairman.
Dr. Chambers was promoted to glory on April 1, 2005 from his home in
Franklin, Ohio. Funeral services
were held at Franklin Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2005.
Please be much in prayer for Mrs. Chambers and the family during this
difficult time in their lives.
There is still time for you to make your plans to attend
the World Baptist Fellowship meeting, which will be held May 16-19, 2005 at the
Arlington Baptist College campus. This
will be a great meeting and you will be blessed by the preaching of the Word and
fellowship with God’s servants.
Skip &
Dana Woodfin and children are taking a short two-month furlough from the
work in Hawaii to visit as many of their supporting churches as possible during
that time. Missionaries Mel
and Charlene Neill are taking care of the ministry in Hawaii in the
Woodfin’s absence.
Dale &
Janet Brown and boys arrive this month from New Zealand for their furlough.
Pray for them as they make the trip and get settled into the routine of
furlough travel.
Pray for Bill
& Dena Rose and children as they complete their studies at the Spanish
Language School in Edinburg, TX, that the needed visas for Spain will be granted
soon and they can make their move to the field.
They are anxious to be on the field and to begin their ministry in Spain.
David &
Diane Cato and girls will be completing their deputation and hope to make
the move to Brazil very soon. They
will be locating in Rio Grande do Sul in the extreme southern part of Brazil.
They look forward to a fruitful ministry there.
Pray for them that the rest of their support will come in soon and they
can be on their way to the field.
Please continue to remember Saundra
Henderson in your prayers as she adjusts to life following the homegoing of
Bro. Cecil. She will have many
important decisions to make for the future and she will need the intercessory
prayer of God’s people.
Pray much for the following missionaries who are ill:
Bessie Millican
continues to cling to life in Gonzalez, Mexico.
Pray that the Lord will grant her comfort and peace as she awaits His
will to be accomplished in her life. Wanda
Whaley has been back in the hospital with a bad infection following her
heart surgery. She is at home now,
but still much in need of your prayers. Doyle
Whaley is also having many health problems and has had a number of tests
done recently. Juanita
Bowen will undergo further surgery in the near future following her recovery
from back surgery. Sammy
Jo Myers continues to receive radiation treatment in her battle with cancer.
Jack Weaver is growing
weaker and needs your prayers in his ongoing battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s
Disease). Debi
Harris, Joe &
Elaine Hawkins, Monnie Bacon, Gloria
Higgins, Sandy & Gary Janky,
Phil & Mary Gagnon all need
your prayers as they battle ongoing physical infirmity.
While we thank God for modern medicine, good doctors and hospitals, we
know that the Great Physician is the real answer to their needs.
You are a vital part of the efforts of our missionary
families as they strive to reach souls around the world.
Without your faithfulness in prayer and financial support none of them
could carry on their ministry. We
also recognize the importance of your support and prayers for us in the Mission
Office as we labor to help our missionaries.
Thank you for upholding us in your prayers.
