NEWSLETTERNOVEMBER 2004Many churches send a special Christmas offering to their missionaries. Those offerings should be sent to the Mission Office marked, “Christmas Gift”. Gifts are deposited into our missionaries’ checking accounts in addition to their regular deposits. Each missionary is given a list of the churches that send gifts so that thank you letters may be sent to the churches. Offerings are recommended rather than packages sent to the field. If packages are sent, they should be sent very early so that the missionaries will receive them in time for Christmas. If you need a missionary’s field mailing address, you may obtain it by calling the Mission Office at 817-274-7161, or requesting it by e-mail at: wbfraley@earthlink.net Missionaries Rick and Jackie Washburn were startled recently by a large explosion in the building next to their apartment in Medellin, Colombia. One of the rebel groups detonated a bomb in an office next door to where the Washburns live. We praise the Lord that the Washburns were not injured in the blast. Please continue to pray for their safety there in Colombia, as well as for our missionaries around the world that the Lord will keep His mighty hand of protection over them. Please be in prayer for the churches in Florida and Alabama that suffered damage due to the hurricanes. These faithful people, in many cases, will be faced with repairing and rebuilding, not only their church buildings, but also their homes. Charles and Juanita Bowen have arrived in the States for a short furlough due to Mrs. Bowen’s health needs. She is now undergoing a number of medical tests as the doctors diagnose her condition and decide the best course of treatment. Juanita has suffered from Lupus for many years and her present difficulties may be a result of this disease. Please remember her in your prayers. Please continue to pray for Miss Bessie Millican, who remains in very serious condition at her home in Gonzalez, Mexico. The doctors have done all they can for her and she is waiting on the Lord to work out His perfect will for her. Pray that she will be comfortable and at peace as she waits on the Lord’s will to be done. Cindee Richards is recovering from surgery and doing well at this time. Pray that she will soon be completely recovered and able to return to the field in Dominica. Others who need prayer for their physical needs are: Monnie Bacon, Debi Harris, Mary Gagnon, Phil Gagnon, Joe Hawkins, Cecil Henderson, Gloria Higgins, Jack Weaver, Lanny Wood, Barbara Wimm, Sarah Winters, Sandy Janky. Thank you for your prayers and financial support for our missionary families, and also a special thanks to each church that supports our General Fund. Our Mission Office performs many valuable services for our missionary families and we could not carry on this ministry without your faithfulness. We appreciate your investment in the cause of world missions; helping us to serve those who serve in the regions beyond. Tommy Raley |
