NEWSLETTER

SEPTEMBER 2004

We are happy to welcome Jack and Ute Hardy to our WBF Mission Family.  Bro. and Mrs. Hardy are sent out from the Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora, Texas to the country of Wales.  Bro. and Mrs. Hardy come to the WBF family with a total of 18 years experience in the ministry and are well prepared to do a wonderful work for the Lord in Wales.  They will be a blessing to any church which has them to come and present their burden for the field to which the Lord has called them.  Pastor, let me encourage you to invite the Hardys to your church for a meeting or to be a part of your mission conference.  You may reach them at the address and phone number listed at the bottom of this letter.

You still have time to make your plans to attend the Fall Meeting, which will be held September 26-29, 2004 at the Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The meeting will be held in conjunction with the International Baptist Network meeting.  There is a list of hotels offering special prices in the current issue of the Fundamentalist or you can call the Mission Office at 817-274-7161 for information concerning lodging.  You may also find this information on our website at: www.wbfi.net.  Please come and be a part of this very special meeting.  I am told that this will be the largest gathering of Independent Baptists in history.

Do not forget this year’s MISSION STORE, which will be held on September 30, 2004 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia.  DO NOT SEND YOUR MISSION STORE ITEMS TO THE MEETING IN CHATTANOOGA!  Mission Store merchandise should be shipped to: Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1036 N. Main St., Jasper, GA 30143.  The telephone number at the church is: 706-692-6315.  You will need that number for the shipping company you use.

David & Florence McDonald are scheduled to return to Spain this month for their next term of service.  Please pray for this dear couple as they continue their labor for the Lord among the Spanish and African peoples in Almeria, Spain.  Pray for them also as they leave their youngest daughter, Rachel, here in the U. S. in Bible College.

Bill and Dena Rose & Children are awaiting approval of their visas so that they can leave for the field of Spain.  Pray that the paperwork will be completed soon and they can be on the field where the Lord has called them.

Please be in prayer for the following missionaries who are ill:  Miss Bessie Millican is still clinging to life.  Pray for the Lord’s will to be done in her life.  Monnie Bacon is still undergoing tests and may have to undergo surgery.  Jack Weaver is doing as well as could be expected in his battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  Cecil Henderson, Mary Gagnon, Joe Hawkins, Sandy Janky, Gloria Higgins, Lanny Wood, Barbara Wimm all continue their daily battles with physical infirmity and need our faithful prayers.

Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support for our missionaries and the General Fund.  Please pray for the Special Mission Offering that will be received at the Fall Meeting.  It is vitally important to the ongoing operation of the Mission Office.  If you cannot attend the meeting in Chattanooga, you may mail your offering to the Mission Office at P. O. Box 13459, Arlington, TX 76094.  Thank you for having a part in helping us reach the goal of $50,000 in this Special Mission Offering.
