NEWSLETTERJUNE 2004
As we enter the summer months, our missionaries are
preparing for Vacation Bible Schools, youth camps and other summer programs just
like our churches here in the U. S. Of
course, those in the Southern Hemisphere are ending their summer and beginning
their fall programs. Wherever we
serve the Lord it is always time to be busy.
The need of souls is the same around the world.
Customs and language might be different, but every person needs to hear
the Gospel and have an opportunity to trust Christ as Saviour.
Your investment in the lives and ministries of our missionaries around
the world are paying dividends with souls being saved and Christians trained to
follow the Lord. We are truly
co-laborers together with the Lord in this great work of the proclamation of the
Gospel. Summer will find several of our families returning to
the field following furlough and others coming to the U. S. to begin their
furlough ministry. Brad
& Ronda Hastings (New Zealand), Alton
& Helen Smith (Brazil), Lanny
& Judy Wood (Brazil) have all returned to the field.
Miss Karen Werth
(Indonesia), Andy & Linda Briggs
(Latvia) will return to their fields next month.
The Kyron Horton
family arrives in June from Brazil to begin their furlough. Please remember that this year’s Fall Meeting will be
held a little earlier than normal. Our
meeting will be held in conjunction with the Southwide Baptist Fellowship and
the Baptist Bible Fellowship. The
meeting will take place September 26-29, 2004 at the Highland Park Baptist
Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This
year’s Mission Store will take place on September 30, 2004 at the Mt. Zion
Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia. Jasper
is about an hour and a half from Chattanooga and our missionaries will meet
there for the Mission Store. Please
do not ship your mission store items to Chattanooga.
Send them to the following address: Mt. Zion Baptist Church Miss
Bessie Millican is now at home from the hospital but she is still in very
serious condition. She is patiently
waiting for the Lord’s will to be done in her life.
Pray that God will continue to give the grace and peace she needs.
Bro. Jack Weaver
continues to do as well as could be expected in his battle with Lou Gehrig’s
disease. Bro.
Shelby Mayo will be undergoing eye surgery and has some other medical tests
scheduled as well. Pray for the
following missionaries who have ongoing physical problems:
Monnie Bacon, Sandy
Janky, Gloria Higgins, Mary
Gagnon, Phil Gagnon, Lanny
Wood, Joe Hawkins,
Cecil Henderson, Barbara
Wimm. Thank you for your prayers and faithful financial support. Our missionaries depend on your faithfulness, and we also do here at the Mission Office. God has been so good to meet the need each month for our families and we know that because you are so faithful that He will continue to use you to meet the need in the future. Tommy Raley |
