Dear Pastor and congregation,

Over the last month John has reported to several of our supporting churches in Texas. It is always such a blessing for us to be able to show and speak of the fruits of the prayers and financial support of the faithful. He also had the privilege of presenting our ministry in three mission conferences, and managed to squeeze in time to fly to Washington State to speak at a men's retreat. It was a busy but fruitful four weeks.

We are praying for a 20% increase in our support level. With the devaluation of the dollar in Brazil, the raise in the cost of living, an expanding ministry, and the increasing needs of the family, we arrived Stateside financially strapped. Praise God the Lord is faithful. He is supplying our needs, and a couple of supporting churches have already given us a raise in support. We also have promises of new supporters.

The girls are now over seven weeks into the school year. It is their first time in a single grade classroom setting, as they have been home schooled up to now. They have adjusted well, but have let us know they still prefer home schooling.  For this and financial reasons, Neila will be home schooling them next semester.

News from the field is encouraging. The church in Caxias has new people attending, and what problems arose after our departure have been resolved. The devil isn't happy, however. Bro. Dave Cato, who is taking care of the work with his family, passed on the news that the leadership has been under attack with discouraging situations. An auto accident, a broken down van, and our house broken into. The Catos lost two computers, video and digital cameras, we both lost our sewing machines, our two televisions with the girls' Playstation, and a few other items. The break-in took place while they were at church. Praise the Lord it wasn't worse. Insurance covered a small part of the loss.

John is still filling in his schedule for 2006. Please pray that we will be able to present to several new churches, increasing our chances of reaching our support goal. John will be in the Northwest and on the west coast. At the end of this year, we will be moving from Missouri to live near John's family in Washington State.

Please be in prayer with us for the following:

            1. Safety for John in his travels.

         2. The health of our family and the girls' studies.
            3. A 20% increase in our support level.

         4. The congregation in Caxias do SuI, Brazil.

Thank you again for all your prayers and concern for our ministry and family. May the grace of God be with you.

In His service,

John & Neila
Joneia, Leila and Katherine
