Dear Fellow laborers,
"Straight out of the fridge and into the oven." That's how
we can describe our stateside arrival at the end of June. The day we
left: our home in southern Brazil it was only about 40°F. The next day
when we stepped out the doors of the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, it was 100° F!
UGH!
David and Diane Cato and girls arrived in Caxias ten days before our
departure. They are taking care of the work and our home. What a big blessing
they are in helping us this way.
We had a fantastic final weekend with our church in Brazil. Saturday night
the church put on a couples dinner. Twenty-two couples were there, with the
majority being unsaved family and friends. Sunday night the church planned a
going away service for us, which also served as a welcoming service for the
Catos. Sixty-seven were in attendance! The biggest blessing of the night was
when John lead Fladimir to the Lord! He is Cladimir's 42 year old brother. The
church had been praying for this for over a year.
As we travel to visit family and friends this summer, we've had the
privilege of reporting to a few supporting churches. John has enjoyed
reporting with the family present. This furlough he'll be traveling alone as the girls
are enrolled in a Christian school. Neila is taking a well deserved break from home schooling.
The Catos have recently reported great news from the field. Emerson (mid
20's) received Christ as his Savior! He and his girlfriend have been attending
for several months now, and the church has been praying for his salvation.
Praise the Lord.
Our prayer requests are as follows:
 | Spiritual growth of Fladimir and Emerson. |
 | The girls to adjust to the USA culture and classroom environment. |
 | Our
congregation in Brazil, especially for Ismael who is backslidden. |
Thank. you for your prayers and support for us and our ministry.
Sincerely,
John & Neila
