Dear Pastor and congregation,

The Fundamental Baptist Institute of the Serra Gaúcha officially began at the beginning of April, just a little later than we originally planned. We have two couples and a single mom studying. We’ve started off with just two courses, which are “Life of Christ” and “Romans”. Right now we meet together only once a week to discuss the material and clarify doctrine.

Since February we have seen a slight increase in our evening services. In fact the other night we had forty-seven in attendance, a number we haven’t seen in months. We praise the Lord for the increase. Part of the higher numbers is due to the return of a family that was living in another state, and also because we have new people attending. We’ve had several visitors, of which one couple has continued attending. Emerson and Cinthia have now come nearly every Sunday for the past month and a half. Emerson is not saved, and Cinthia does not have a strong testimony of faith. She has a four year old son named Danilo.

We have purchased our flights to the States to begin our furlough. Our Stateside arrival is June 21^st. Dave Cato and his family will be arriving on June 10^th to watch care the church here in Caxias, and to take care of our house and animals.

Our prayer requests are as follows:

ü Salvation of Emerson, and spiritual growth for Cinthia.

ü Wisdom in delegating responsibilities to church members for the diverse ministries.

ü Our family’s health, as the fall weather has set in (we live in the southern hemisphere).

ü The Catos as they prepare to come to Brazil.

ü That necessary tasks be completed before our departure for furlough.
