Dear
praying friends,
Let
me begin with a quick exhortation to you (and me) not to give up on
people. It may take years to see someone that you’ve worked with and
ministered to and encouraged in the things of God - to take that step of
faith and follow the Lord. But sticking
with it is worth it. The highlight of our 2nd annual
mission retreat this summer was getting to baptize a young man that
we’ve ministered to off and on for years
in AWANAs and Sunday School and Youth camps and more. But life happens,
and ministries change, and people come in and out of your life; but
then, a word is spoken in season, and decisions are made, and the next
thing you know, you have the privilege of baptizing that one that you
have served for so long.
We
would also like to give a word of encouragement and thanks to our
faithful supporting churches (past and present). Thank you for making
the blessings of ministry to
eternal souls possible. Many of you have given to your power and even beyond your power for years. Some of our supporters have been
especially hard hit in recent times (and we know particularly so among
some of our Michigan friends) and tough decisions had to be made about
dropping support. We do understand, and pray that God will soon reverse
your situation. And the Lord has provided us support from unexpected
(for us, not Him) places. So we thank Him and His praying, giving
people.
I
mentioned at the beginning of the year that I was planning a short
furlough early in 2010 to report to some of our supporting churches. If
you would like to schedule a meeting for January, February, or March

We are currently scheduled to be in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, but
east and west of there can also be thrown into the mix. Several dates
are still up for grabs. We are several time zones removed from the
States, so, telephone wise, what works for me probably won’t work for
you; so, please, let’s try to do this via email if at all possible.
