NUPTIALS IN TEXAS

We are presently in Texas for Ian and Angela’s big day. They will be exchanging vows on Monday, the 2nd of July at the Baptist Tabernacle in Grand Prairie where Angela’s dad, Randy Tucker, is pastor. The next day they will be heading west on the long drive to Monterrey, California (Lord willing) where Uncle Sam has stationed A1C Wheeler for training. Would you remember this young couple in prayer as they begin a new life together serving God and country?

THE WORK IN CAERLEON

During our absence Bro. Jack Hardy is handling all aspects of the ministry. The two week Caerleon Festival kicks off while we are stateside, and this should bring out more people on the streets than we’ve seen up to now. Jack and his dear wife Ute will be out among the people, and we pray that there will be folks willing to listen to a good word spoken for the Lord Jesus Christ. So many come for the artistic emphasis of this cultural festival; pray that the Master Potter Himself would be at work fashioning vessels for His own glory.

Before leaving Wales I had a brainstorming session with Bro. Jack and we lit upon the idea of a car boot sale outreach. Every second or third Sunday afternoon this time of year a car boot sale (think yard sale out of the back of your car) is held right behind the school where we meet on Sunday mornings. The cars are lining up even before we finish the service. We figured since just about everything but the kitchen sink is on offer, why not go back and offer the words of eternal life? We’re waiting for a Sunday when it doesn’t rain to get started (inclement weather cancels the sale). I can’t think of a better reason to pray for sunny Sundays, can you?

Our Sunday morning services so far have proven to be our least attended service (normally six to eight of us), lower even than our Thursday evening house meetings. We praise the Lord for cramped quarters at home, but desperately desire much less “elbow room” on Sunday mornings.
May God richly bless all of you - our prayerful supporters - as you make it possible for us to continue ministering where the Lord was once widely known, but is now largely forgotten!

Feeding a few and fishing for more in the old world,
Tom and Patti Wheeler
