The time has come for us to make some
MINISTRY CHANGES
As of the end of this month we will be turning our work here
over to national leadership. There will be some folks we baptized back in 2001
in charge. Such times are never easy; there are always mixed emotions in
leaving. But there comes a time when the missionary must stand back, having
taught and shown what to do, and the people must take the responsibilities upon
themselves without American help. We see some signs of people stepping up to the
plate and this makes the transition a bit easier.
WHAT NEXT?
Patti goes into
the hospital on June 1st for an exploratory procedure and
possible surgery. That will give me nearly two weeks before I go to England,
where I've been asked to teach the course on Hebrews and General Epistles at the
Bible institute. Those are two things that we ask prayer for - Patti's health
(she's been in considerable pain the past few days) and the institute
course. This is my first opportunity to teach at the institute so this is
new territory for me.
After that we'll be helping another church planting
missionary for a while in the valleys to the west of us. He has discussed with
us possibilities for church plants in various communities, so we could be
working in any number of areas between Cardiff (the capital city on the coast)
and the heads of the valleys communities to the north.
Please pray for us in this transition time; letting go is
never easy, but new challenges at least make it easier.
Lifting up the glorious Name of JESUS this side of
the pond,
Tom and Patti Wheeler
