The Whaleys
July 2008
Dear Praying Friends,
So much has happened since we last wrote. The trip back to Guatemala
was great. We were so blessed to see the people carrying on the works.
They have been so faithful and great results are coming out of their
faithfulness. Souls are being saved and many have been baptized and
added to the churches.
The church in Quezaltenango, after much prayer and visitation, have
started a mission in a new area of the city. They are averaging 70 on
Sunday afternoon services and 50 on Wednesday night services. Seventeen
have been saved in the first two months of the mission. A young man and
his wife are at the head of this work. Please pray for Juan and Mari
Morales as they lead these people. Juan and his wife are attending
Seminary and he is working a full time job. They have their hands full,
but the Lord is blessing.
The church in Huehuetenango have also started a new work in the high
mountains above the city. There has been some saved, and they are
looking for property to buy and build a building for their services as
it is almost impossible to rent in this area. Pastor Luis Batz and some
of the church members are doing the visitation for this new work. Please
pray for them, because in this area most people still practice the old
Mayan religion. They believe that every object has a spirit and they
still have their witch doctors. They need your prayers.
Doyle's health is doing well and the medication had
helped him. Please keep him in your prayers. We thank you for your
faithful support and prayers.
Yours in Christ,
Doyle & Wanda
