The Whaleys
February 2009
Dear Praying Friends,
We are hoping that this letter finds you in good health. We are doing
well. Doyle suffered a stroke in late
September and another in October. He is doing much better now after
almost three months in rehab. His speech was affected, but he can still
talk enough to make his wishes known. Please continue to pray for him.
The churches in Guatemala are doing well. In December they celebrated
their Vacation Bible Schools. Bible Baptist in Quezaltenango had 202
enrolled for the week with 17 saved. Bible Baptist Mission in
Cipresalles had 143 enrolled and 19 saved. Six of these were young
people. Bible Baptist in Huehuetenango had 176 enrolled with 26 saved.
The only one that didn't have a Vacation Bible School was Bible Baptist
Mission in Capitarrilla from lack of funds to pay for it. They spent the
money they had saved to buy a piece of property and to build a building
to meet in. This work is averaging 75 to 80 every Sunday. Please pray
for these young preachers as they lead their churches forward.
One praise item is that the church in Huehuetenango now has their
papers and can operate legally in the country and have their church
property in the church's name. The church in Quezaltenango is still
waiting for their papers, so pray that they will receive them soon.
We want to thank you for being so faithful in your
prayers
and support for us.
Yours in Him,
Wanda and Doyle Whaley
