COLOMBIA

WASHBURN - JUNE 16, 2008
Dear Friends,
We appreciate your prayers as we travel and visit our supporting
churches and as we visit a few new churches along the way. We are
needing to raise some new support because of the fall of the dollar in
Colombia and around the world. We have lost about 35% of our buying
power and that seems to continue to rise each month. I know God will
supply the need and we can make the necessary adjustments. He is
faithful in all things, we just wanted you to pray about these
matters.
We will be returning to Colombia in
November. Again if you would like for us to report to your church
please let me know right away. We still have a few dates open in July
and September.
The churches in Colombia seem to be doing well. They
will be having
a Youth Camp the first week in July. Please pray that souls will be
saved and the young people will receive a burden to serve the Lord and
live for him.
The pastors will be having their annual get together, study and
fellowship. This will be the first time to do this without the
missionary being present. This is good and we pray that it will be a
time to bring them even closer together as co-laborers for the Lord.
Also I would like for you to pray about the town of Ebejico. A
family visited Pastor Wilson Orrego's church from this small town.
They have invited him to go there and have services. He will be
talking with the men and will go with them to this town to visit and
have a service. Pray with us that
God will open this door. This family says that they don't have a
Baptist church in that town. We have been praying that God would open
some doors to start new works and provide the needed laborers and
finances for this task.
Thank you again for your prayers for our furlough work and the work
in Colombia. We do appreciate your faithful support even though times
are getting a little tight here in the USA. God will continue to bless
as we walk by faith to do His work.
In His Service,
Rick and Jackie
