"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
                Ephesians 6:12

Dear Pastor and Church,                                                                 December-January 2004

Greetings once again from the mountains of Northern Thailand. I want to start off by thanking the Lord for what He has been doing in the life of  many of our teens. The last few years we have seen many decisions from our October youth Camp. We have always had a problem as most churches do in keeping the excitement of those decisions made at camp going. This last year we decided to start a Discipleship program a couple weeks after camp. I asked them to commit themselves to Christ for six months to discover the joy of serving Christ as His disciple. We wanted something that would equip them to be more like Christ, to master the basic disciplines of the Christian life, and to be involved in making other disciples. They have scripture memorization, Bible study homework, and homework that gets them involved in applying it to their lives as they teach or witness to others. We meet every Saturday evening for two hours. We started with eighteen commitments for the discipleship class. We have had only four drop out (two of those got married). We have had some parents and church members make comments on the way the teens are spending time with the Master and the changes they see.  Ma-le, who is fifteen, has surrendered to serve the Lord and has begun helping teach the 4th thru 6th grade. Once a month Ma-le's mother (Na-Taw) teaches children's church. Na-Taw is not fluent in Thai so Ma-le helps her prepare the lesson. Please pray the teens will stay committed.

The Bible Institute is going well. We should have our first students (6) ready to graduate in two years. In November Rick Salmon finished Prophetical Books II and Jason Goe finished Hermeneutics the last of January. Three of the men (Pra-doe, Ya-tu, and Gow) have started riding a motorcycle to the next village over on Tuesday nights to sing Christian songs with the kids there. They have between 12 to 20 kids coming.
