Dear Pastor and Church,                                                                                              Nov.- Dec. 2007

November and December is usually the busiest months for us as well as most missionaries. In the month of November we baptized four of seven teenage girls that accepted Christ back in October at Youth Camp. Our young people usually come back from camp encouraged and excited about the Lord. Therefore, we have found it very profitable to have a discipleship class ready to start soon after they return before they fall back into their normal routine. The goal is to encourage the young people to grow in Christ and to reach out to others. We started with eight young men and 16 young ladies. Praise the Lord for their interest in His Word.
The first week of December each year we have our Church Thanksgiving service. After the crops have been harvested the church will meet the following Sunday for special services, a meal, testimonies, and special songs. The platform of the church will be half covered with bags of rice from their tithe. The young people will usually put on a small play. This year the Lord has blessed most of our families with a better harvest than normal.
We usually have our Church Christmas service the Sunday before Christmas. This year we had to postpone it one week because of elections. This was our first election since the military coup of last year. Around 4 a.m. on Sunday December 30th we started with the killing and butchering of two pigs for our Sunday afternoon lunch. Each year we have between 400 to 500 people show up throughout the day for the preaching, meal, games, special songs and skits, and finally end with a long evening service. The very next night from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. was our New Years service for our church family. We were all very tired the first day of the year.
The new work in Pha-ya-meng-rai is going well. There are more adults coming (though not consistent) and always a bunch of lovely children. We had our first Father's Day service here on December 5th. Thailand has Father's Day on the Kings Birthday and Mother's Day is on the Queen's Birthday. We had a few new men come to the service. Pra-Doe is our young missionary at this work. He graduated from the Bible Institute in 2005. He is planning to get married February 14th. Pun, his wife to be, is one of our graduates also. They are excited to share, love and serve the Lord together. Please remember them in your prayers.
