Dear Pastor and Church,
July - September 2009
These last three months we have spent a lot of time with the
institute. We want to get Ahjew and Jakue graduated by the end of 2010.
We are in the process of teaching Systematic Theology one week a month.
We did the same thing with Bible Doctrine. We have found this the best
approach with Ahjew who has no formal education. We can teach three
topics or chapters and have him test one a week before we start the next
section. Other classes are done as a block course covering the whole
class in a week as we did with Revelation in September. Minor Prophets
was done the same way except teaching it as a two block course with two
months in between. The block classes allow us to bring in students from
other churches as we have our regular classes. We are also working with a
few missionaries to get the entire curriculum done for the Bible
institute. I am working on the Minor Prophets (organized and in notebook
form) and upgrade the Life of Christ material.
The work in My-suk-san continues to grow. Since the building
dedication in June Pra-doe and Pan has had the opportunity to lead three
people to Christ: Na-bu is somewhere in her thirties (not sure what year
she was born) and two young men (teens), Som-chai and Chat-thai. Please
be in prayer for these new Christians as they live in an animist
society. Also remember Pan in your prayers as she is 4 months pregnant
with their first child. The 2 mile dirt road out of the village turns to
mud this time of year. They have to travel once a month on the
motorcycle for her monthly check-ups.
We do appreciate all your prayers and
support.
