"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
                Ephesians 6:12

    June - July 2006

Dear Pastor and church,

We were able to get the water purification system in before leaving for furlough. We put in a concrete foundation and a chain link fence around it to help keep the kids from playing with the valves and knobs. Once we got it all hooked up we headed home thinking we would come back the next morning to put in the chlorine and adjust all the valves. Word got out that night that it was hooked up and by 6:00 a.m. there was a line of people getting water from the tanks. Thank you from the village and from us for those that helped with this.

We were able to start the work in the village of Phaya-meng-rai. Pra-doe and Ja-saa were able to make a bedroom out of the storage room at the school. The school agreed to have them come and help in teaching (Pra-doe) and repair work (Ja-saa). The head teacher went to the village leaders and was told by them not to accept our help because we wanted to start a church in the village. The teacher said he was a Buddhist himself but that Christians do more to help people then other religions. If they want to help you and your kids then let them. No one has to become a Christian but it should be up to each individual to decide if they wanted to be a Christian or not since Thailand does have freedom of religion. We praise the Lord for this open door.

We had four ladies saved before we left baptizing one. We had the opportunity to baptize two other ladies the Sunday before we left for furlough and one young man the next Sunday a couple hours before we headed out.

We are now in the States and looking forward to reporting to all our supporting churches. A special thanks to our home church, all those that helped get us back to the States and for your faithfulness in praying and giving.

God bless you all

Thomas and Kannika Tucker
