KINGDOM OF THAILAND

THOMAS & KANNIKA TUCKER

Dear Pastor and Church,
May - June 07
Three weeks ago one of our church
member's brother passed away without Christ from aids. His wife and
child (8 years old) are both HIV positive. She is willing to listen to
the Gospel but doesn't come to church. She has allowed her child to
attend the Saturday evening Bible Club but not church (yet). Another
lady, E-booh 23 years old, is HIV positive. She began attending church
less than a month after she found out she had HIV. Kannika witnessed to
her on a Saturday evening and she understood the Gospel. She knows she
is a sinner and needs a Savior but could not bring herself to say the
name 'Jesus'. She would try but couldn't get it out and would start
laughing. She had to go home to take her medicine but said she was
afraid she would die that night. As she was leaving Kannika asked her to
say one word for her, "Just say the name 'Jesus'" and she did.
She came to the Ladies Sunday morning Bible Class. After class they
talked again. This time she got saved, Praise the Lord! The lady's class
was overjoyed as the rest of the church.
It has been more than a month since we
received Austin Tucker from the orphanage. He is a precious little boy.
He will be two years old August 29. We can't imagine being without him
now. It's life changing in all areas. As many of you know we cut our
furlough short after hearing from the adoption agency that they had a 1
1/2 year old boy. He was born out of wedlock and after a month the
mother decided to entrust the child for six months in the temporary care
of the orphanage. She returned at the end of that time to sign her name
on the consent form for relinquishing her rights to the child. When
Austin first arrived at the adoption agency he weighed 4kgs. He has
suffered from chronic lung infection, URI, bronchitis, fever, asthma,
pneumonia, and diarrhea. At present he is in good condition. He is small
for his age as would be expected and a little behind with motor skills,
emotional development and language ability. He was still drinking milk
from the bottle when we picked him up. He could walk and pick up
objects. He had a blank look on his face most of the time. When he did
smile which wasn't very often it was more of a quarter grin. Within the
week he began running and playing and smiling more. He is now very
active and a very good kid. On July 3rd we did the paper work for his
passport. The case worker from the adoption agency was shocked to see
him so active.
