"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
                Ephesians 6:12

Dear Pastor and Church,                                                                 April-May 06

We are so grateful for our church. In the pass three years, even though the church has been through so many trials in serving the Lord together, we have seen more people accept Christ, get baptized, and surrender for full time ministry.

We now have four Bible Clubs which meet in the houses of church members scattered through out the village. We started the Bible Clubs two months ago in areas we had few members. We were not reaching many people in these areas but were getting some opposition. Many of the kids who were not interested in attending Sunday School or whose parents didn't allow them to come are now attending the Bible Clubs with the opportunity to hear the Word of God. We even have a few adults attending. The Bible Clubs have been averaging 77 the last three weeks. And now our Sunday Morning attendance has begun to increase too. We really praise the Lord for this. Last week we had a man ask if we would like to use his house for a Bible Club who lives in another area of the village. Last Sunday Naa-lu asked if she could be a teacher. As we do with all our teachers, we ask them to pray and be sure they feel God leading them to serve Him as a teacher. They then attend a class on how to teach kids with a section on the character and responsibility of a teacher.

We thank the Lord for Ja-saa. He is a young man that came to visit our village about three years ago with some friends. He was saved and immersed soon afterwards. Some of our members taught him to read in Lahu and now he teaches others. Sometimes he will take off for a few days or a week to search for villages to start a church in. Pra-dao (the graduated from Bible Institute this year) and Ja-saa have a burden to go out and start a new church. Many villages do not allow Christians. The village in Phaya-meng-rai is one of these. It is a two-hour drive by truck from our village. This is the village we have been going to once a week to teach in the two-room school. During school break they had a meeting and voted not to have a church in the village. We want to start a church in the village but know it is going to take a lot of prayer and hard work but God is able. These two young men are willing to move into the village. School has opened and we plan to ask permission from the two teachers for Pra-dao and Ja-saa to live in the storage room, help teach the kids, and use some of the school property to plant vegetables for the school and to sell to the villagers. They will try to find some land to rent to build a small bamboo hut and plant more vegetables and try to help the villagers in the fields. The villagers already know we are Christians so might not want to rent to us. Please pray for our church, Pra-dao and Ja-saa that we will be able to branch out and spread the Gospel in this village.

In and because of Him
