"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
                Ephesians 6:12

Dear Pastor and Church                                                            February-March 2006

On February 2nd we had our first graduation (three graduates) for the Bible Baptist Institute of Thailand in the village of Huey Saa. That makes a total of six with the three from Bangkok last year. We started a new term the first week of March with ten students taking part-time evening classes (Tues and Thurs). This class is open to those in the church who would like to study more of the Bible but cannot attend full time.
Regular institute classes started Tuesday, March 21st. Four of those who started studying in the evening will be studying full-time and one young man (Gow) who quit last year to help his father work in the fields is coming back. Ja-khue accepted Christ last year and is 19 years old. He is the oldest son of the family that moved close to the church to get away from teens that were not saved. His mother is saved but his dad has yet to accept Christ. His dad has been attending church for the last couple months. Yang is 21 years old and accepted Christ when he was 16. He is the oldest with four younger sisters. His younger sister (Saang) graduated from the Bible Institute this last year. He would argue with his father and sister about the Bible and God. He never read the Bible and would argue even when they showed him scriptures. He had his own ideas about God and gave everyone in the family fits. We prayed for him a lot because we were not sure he was saved. Two years ago we talked him into going to Youth Camp and he began to change soon afterwards. Ah-jew is Yang's father. He is the main national leader in the church. Years ago he was the only one that had a hunger for the Bible. The only reason I stayed working in this village was because of him. One day he told me,"1 really wanted to move my family out of this village. The only reason I stayed was because you were coming into the village and teaching the Bible." We both had the same idea but praise the Lord we didn't get together on that. This is a big step of faith for him and his family with both him and his only son studying. This means they will not be able to work in the fields all day. They will have to plant less rice for the next couple years and depend on the Lord to make it. He is 45 years old and still learning to read and write Thai. He will have to spend a lot of time going over his reading assignments and getting help. Our last student (Malee) is the only lady we have studying right now. She is 19 and is Yang's cousin. Her mother and Yang's mother are sisters. We thank the Lord for these new students and ask that you pray for them, Kannika, and me. This is summer break time in Thailand but since we are to take our furlough in August we want to teach as many classes as possible before we leave.
PRAISE THE LORD! We have had 10 people saved so far this year with six of those coming in the last two months. We were also able to Baptize 10 people last month.
