Thomas was approved as a World Baptist Fellowship missionary to Thailand in 1987. He was saved at the Bethel Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas when he was a senior in high school.

He is a 1984 graduate of Arlington Baptist College.  On September 2001 he was married to Kannika in the country of Thailand.  In 2007 Austin was adopted into the family.

Their sending church is the Bethel Baptist Church in Arlington.
