Dear Prayer Warriors:
Greetings from South Texas. Spring has already arrived in
this area. One day the thermometer reached 103 degrees, that sounds more like summer.
We have been here at the border for the last few months. Our step-father was
not able to stay at the home where he thought he could. He needed more care then
they were able to provide. They called us and we had to go and get him. Since
then we have been looking for a nursing facility for him. His health has deteriorated greatly during this time. He is now in the hospital and they are
trying to find his exact health problems so we can get him adequate care. Some
one has to be around 24 hours a day as he is unable to do many things for
himself.
During this time Leon and I have been helping at Bethel Missions here in
Pharr, Texas. We are only a few miles from the border. Leon goes across to work
with small Mexican churches as often as he can. I do what ever needs to be done
here at the mission and help teach English to the Mexican children in a small
village outside of Reynosa. We hope all of this is very temporary and we will be
back in Mexico soon.
Our work in Saltillo is going well. They still hope to organize in June and
are getting ready for the summer days ahead. Leon is planning a trip into
Saltillo in the next two weeks. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 817-7397250.
Please pray for us as this has been one of the hardest times in our lives.
Our stepfather has no one else but us and we have to make all the decisions for
his care. We've been asking the Lord's wisdom in this challenge in our lives.
Thank you so much for all your-help during these last 38 years. You have been
wonderful partners in the ministry. May the Lord bless each one of you.
