The Sullivan Family
Missionaries to Ukraine

August 2005

Dear Praying Friends,

Wow, is it hot!  We had forgotten what heat and humidity were until we stepped off the plane in

Orlando, Florida!  After four years on the field, we had become acclimated to cool summers and snowy winters.  No problem, though . . . our blood is thinning fast!

Since our arrival in the States, we have been pounding the pavement in preparation for our furlough travels.  Doctor’s appointments (Western medicine . . . what a blessing!), purchasing new equipment, updating prayer cards and our video presentation, as well as getting a vehicle (thank you to our sending church, West Orlando Baptist!), have kept us very busy these last couple of weeks and are finally complete.  More than 80 churches, our supporters and some new churches, are already scheduled and we are looking forward to getting on the road and sharing our hearts and experiences with each of you.

God richly blessed our first term in Ukraine and the work continues in three cities.  We have been in contact with the church in Krukivshina and all is well.  A new team is beginning the second phase of repairs at the orphanage in Komorovka this month, and Volodia is continuing to meet with the small group in Kmelnitsky.  God answered our prayers and supplied two different families to secure our rental house in Kiev while we are away and our van (which didn’t sell) is being stored safely in our garage and will be there for us to use when we return.

Please pray for us as we wrap up last minute details for the road.  Also, please continue to pray for our ongoing ministry in Ukraine while we are away.  There are some special needs that have come to our attention at the orphanage in Komarovka and our church family in Krukivshina is still in need of property and a facililty.

We are looking forward to meeting with many of you this next year to share, first hand, the work in Ukraine and our dreams for the future.  We can’t wait to thank you personally for your faithfulness to God, the people of Ukraine, and the Sullivan family.  God bless you all!

In Christ,

The Sullivans
