The Sullivan Family
June 2006 Dear Praying Friends, Long road……short year!
This furlough has flown by at blinding speed and God has blessed our work
here in the States. We have been
able to visit with most of our supporting churches and partner with some new
ones, as well. We have seen
several people surrender to missions and some even wanting to come and intern
with us in the future. We are
excited about the new opportunities for ministry that God has prepared in
Ukraine and we are anxious to return to the field. Our plane tickets have been purchased and we are set to
leave the States on June 29th. There
is a great deal to be accomplished in Florida before we leave and very little
time to get it all done. We plan to
take our truck back with us because vehicles are so expensive there.
We would also like to take a small cargo trailer for ministry in the
villages and at the orphanage. Pray
that God will give us wisdom and resources as we arrange all of these last
minute details, pack everything and arrange for shipping back to Ukraine. Please pray for God’s intervention in our housing
situation. Our landlord in Kiev
informed us a couple of weeks ago that we must double our rent to $1500/mo. or
move out at the end of July, just thirty days after our return to Ukraine.
Unfortunately this is the fair market price for what we need, so even if we
move, we will be paying that amount, or more, somewhere else.
We have faced this situation several times already and we feel that we
really need to build our own house to avoid this instability and waste of money
in the future. We are seeking
God’s leadership in finding an individual who would be willing and able to
make a mortgage loan so that we can end this struggle once and for all.
If you know of anyone who might be able to help us with this, please let
us know. And in the meantime, pray
that our landlord would be appeased and not become any more unreasonable…..we
have a group coming over in August and had planned on having them stay with us
at the house and also use it as a our main base of operations for this ministry
outreach. Please pray for Shawn’s family in Louisiana.
His grandfather passed away last week, just a few hours after we arrived
for our last visit with everyone there. We’re
so glad that we were able to see him one last time; if we had been any later we
would have missed him. We believe
that he was waiting for us to come, he had asked for Shawn several times that
day and when we arrived he seemed very glad to see us.
Then that night, just a couple hours after we arrived, he passed away.
We thank God that He allowed us to be there in time.
Please pray for his family…... he was a wonderful Christian man and
will be greatly missed. We want to thank all of you for your graciousness this year
and for your faithful prayers and support these past several years.
God has blessed our partnership and will continue to give fruit for our
labors in the future. Pray for traveling mercies as we move back overseas in a few
weeks. God bless you all! In Him, Shawn, Amy, Cody and Kayla Email: asull65@aol.com Website: www.sullivansukraine.com Mailing address: PO Box 13459, Arlington, TX 76094 Since June 1, 2006 you are
