The Steffens’

to the
Tarahumara Indians of Mexico

Acts 16:9 …Come over…and help us.

        Dear Faithful Supporters:                                                                                      Nov.2009-Jan.2010

Praise the Lord for the 5 baptized in Nov. in Creel by Bro. Alfonso. One was a Tarahumara lady, Juanita. A lady was also saved, and in Dec. 3 were saved in a village with Bro. Alfonso’s son, Imer, preaching, and 3 on the 20th with a guest speaker. Each time we are at the free hospital in Samichiqui we are able to give out at least one tract. Our cookie/gospel ministry is going well also. When we pick up a rider we hand them a pack of cookies and a tract. They read the tract as they eat the cookies. One of our riders was a Tarahumara brother, and he asked us if we were going to learn Tarahumara. We told him that even though we have been told our Spanish has greatly improved, we still need to work on that first, and with the Lord’s help, we would work on his language next. He was very happy to hear that.

We have received some special love gifts enabling us to purchase tracts, Bibles, some children’s books and music, tires for the truck, a wood burning stove for the house, and a kitchen stove. The burner blew up on the old one with Marcia standing beside it. Praise the Lord she was not hurt. We are also making improvements on the house to help keep us warmer and a little more comfortable.

The Lord also gave us quality hardback children’s Bible story books in Tarahumara  to give to the Indians. We glued in the Romans Road in Tarahumara so the gospel is included. This is another open door of getting the Gospel to the Indians. We were also allowed to copy a Spanish/Tarahumara hymnal. The Lord is so wonderful to keep opening doors for us and providing the materials we need!

The truck is another testimony to The Lord’s and your faithfulness to the Christians here. We are often asked how much we paid for it. The brethren are shocked when we tell them we prayed for it, and God used you to provide it.  (We hope to be using the camper shell as a Sunday school room in some of the villages soon.) Thank you for standing with us to make all of this possible. Eternity will reveal the difference you made for Jesus.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
