DON AND MARY ROWLAND
MISSIONARIES TO OLD MEXICO

NOVEMBER 2004 NEWSLETTER

Dear Praying Friends,

Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me bless His Holy name.”

La Iglesia Bautista El Camino (The Way Baptist Church)

·        The El Camino Baptist Church is regularly overcrowded during Sunday services with many standing outside.  The building program is going slowly but we do have a 40 x 60 steel frame up with the metal roof on so far. Please continue to pray concerning our church building program and for continued growth of this ministry.  During September and October there were over 100 professions of faith with 14 baptized, 124 first time adult visitors and a high attendance of over 300.

BIBLE INSTITUTE:  (Independent, Fundamental, Baptist Institute)

·         Our fall semester is progressing well.  There are 16 first year students from ten different churches located in six different states.  We have a total of 23 men and 19 ladies in classes this year.

·        We were blessed by several churches coming in the past few years to build classrooms, importing mobile homes for dorms, building a married couples apartment building and a ladies dorm. We want to get rid of the   old buses used as men’s dormitories and provide them with a dorm building.  Pray about future building.

·        Several of our students returned to classes this semester after getting married this summer.  We are thankful for the Lord’s supply of our apartment building for married student’s housing.  We are blessed with our entire student body as God works in their hearts giving them a great attitude and purpose in their studies and preparation for the ministry.  We are always desirous of your prayers for this tremendous ministry.

·         The new highway under construction is 1500 feet from our campus.  We will be in the middle of one of the fastest growing parts of Mexico mostly made up of middle and upper class.  We are praying that the Lord will provide so we could purchase the 9 acres right next to our campus.  The 9 acres at present is priced at $6.00 per meter ($200,000.00).  Investors in the area are calculating that the price of land will rise to around $50.00 per meter in the next five years. Please pray with us about our future expansion which we will absolutely need to do within the next few years.

PERSONAL PRAYER REQUEST:

·         We are praying about putting a small apartment on campus for our housing.   Please pray with us that the Lord will show us His will.  Living there would allow us to be even more involved in the institute ministry.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and responses to our news letters, reports and petitions.
