SALVATION EXPERIENCE

DON:

After a church service one Sunday Evening, I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I was nine years old. I remember that evening in March 1949, when I asked my Dad about Hell and Salvation that the Pastor preached about that evening. I knew I had sinned and was sorry about it and DID NOT want to go to Hell. My Dad explained that Jesus was punished for all my sin and that if I confessed my sin and received Him as my Savior, He would save from Hell. I knelt with my Dad beside the dining room table to pray and I received Jesus as my Savior. Two months later I was baptized at the First Baptist church of Washington Park, IL.

CALL TO THE MINISTRY

In 1964 at 24 years of age God called me to missionary service during a revival at the Whitewater Bible Church in Whitewater, WI. I went forward in the invitation and surrendered my life to the Lord. I knew without a doubt that it was surrender to missionary service. I did not know where or how I would serve, but that moment is still as real to me today as when it happened. There has never been a moment of doubt in my heart since. Then in 1968 the Lord led me to attend the Bible Baptist Seminary in Arlington, TX. I graduated class Salutatorian in May 1971. After working on the Navajo Indian Reservation, attending Seminary and later as Education Director in my home church, the Lord burdened me with a call to take the gospel to the Mexican people and also to the Indians of Old Mexico.

Mary’s Salvation Experience:

At the age of 5 I asked my mother what being a Christian meant. She had just received Christ as her Savior so was able to explain to me about sin and asking Jesus to forgive me of my sin. I prayed with her to receive Christ as my Savior. Looking back I realize it was perfect timing. At age 10 I went to camp and received assurance of belonging to the Lord and expressed a desire to serve Him in my daily life. The Lord has lead and guided me through these many years.

We are so blessed that our four children received the Lord at an early age. All are active in their churches. Our two oldest daughters live in PA and attend the same church. We have a daughter serving with her husband as missionaries in Paraguay, South America. Our Son pastors a church in Las Vegas NV.
