December 2003

Dear Pastor and Praying friends,  We wish each of you a very happy and blessed Christmas, and a wonderful New Year full of Gods blessings.  Thanks so much for the part you have in our ministry here in Indonesia.

December was full of special times to share the sweet story of the birth of Christ!

Dec. is the one time of the year that we have a real  open opportunity to present the Gospel ,as there are many Christmas programs, dramas etc. taking place throughout the entire month and often into the New Year.

On the 4th of December we had a graduation at our Bible Institute in Purworejo with four students graduating,  one from the school in Bali, one from the school in Solo, and two from the school in Purworejo.  It was a blessing for both of us to be able to take part in the graduation ceremony.  At that time,  Bp Tony ( one of the graduates  and a former student of ours) invited us to come to Bali and speak for their  Christmas program.  We prayed much about this, and the Lord enabled us to go.  On the 25th of December, after a church service in Jogya, we departed for Bali.  We drove straight through both coming and going, and only had 3 nights there in Bali, but it was a blessed time, and we were so proud and happy to see the great work that Tony, his wife and Brother John  & Marge Malanowski are doing there in Bali.

On the 16th of December, our school in Purworejo had a very big Christmas party with all of the neighbors being invited, and once again the precious story of the birth of  Christ was presented.

We returned from Bali on the 30th of December, and on the 31st had two New Years Eve services, then  on the 1st day of our new year, we drove from Jogya to Klaten for a special service with Pastor Yohanes Ngadiman.  We have some counseling sessions this week, plus need to prepare for our trip to Bogor where the National pastors and their wives as well as the missionaries  will gather on the 16th of January.

This Sunday there will be a baptism at the church in Kaligising.  Praise the Lord.

May God bless and keep each of us  safe in our brand new year as we  strive to serve Him better

Thanks so much to each of you that sent us a card or a gift during the holidays.  It made home a lot closer.  Even with all of the activities going on, we really miss our children and grandchildren, and other loved ones at this time of year.
