    Dear Pastor, Family, and Friends, The islands of Indonesia have continued to be shaken by volcanos ( Mt.Merapi) earthquakes ( we had one in our city of Yogya and 13,000 lives were lost) and even tsunamis. Many have lost their lives, their homes, their jobs, but in the midst of all the devastation, what a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus with those about us.

    After the earthquake in our city, it was our privilege to assist a Dr. from the states who came here to administer to the needs of the earthquake victims, and we, along with other missionaries and nationals, were able to help Dr. Waller translate the language, give medicine and examine those in need. A clinic set up in one of the areas hardest hit by the earthquake, led ultimately to the salvation of a man and his wife. Praise the Lord! (We want to thank those of you that have given to the earthquake fund, and we will send a report on that in the near future.) In our church in Yogya, we have a lady that lost her home, nothing left standing but the front door, another family had to move because their home was about to cave in, another lady lost her kitchen, and our church had damage to the bathroom and the small kitchen. Pray for these and other needs.

    Our son Steve, his wife Jody and four of our five precious grandchildren Cory, Benji, Maggie and Katie came to visit us, shortly after the earthquake. They were such a blessing to our people, and to us. Steve and Jody are both Doctors, and they were able to set up a make shift clinic in one of our churches, and see a few people there.  Thanks so much Steve, Jody and family for coming to see us!! Happy birthday to Jody on July 9th, Cory turned 13 on July 15th, and Steve and Jody had an anniversary on July 30th.

    The Youth Retreat in Salatiga went well with over 135 attending.

    Our STT Independent Baptist Institute opened on August 8th, and we are teaching on the main campus and in one of the extension schools as well. Pray for the need to paint and repair the bldgs on the campus.

    Please pray for a need to help children go to school. In the 3 churches we work with, there are a total of 35 children that need help. For $5.00 per month per child, we can help. If you can help with any amount, it would be a blessing. Please pray for Pdt. Yohanes Solmon in Salatiga, he is in the process of trying to finish his church bldg, and pray for Pdt. Yohanes Ngadimin in Klaten, who will soon be building a bldg for his mission in that earth quake stricken area. Pray for Willy, Bp Jonathans son who was in a motorcycle accident.  Pray for Carole, she just found out her younger brother Hank passed away.
