Dear Pastor and Praying Friends, Thank the Lord for His many
blessings!. In May, about 20 people, took a test at our Bible
Institute, which enables them to , be teachers. These are
graduates of our Bible School, or other Bible Schools..
In June, we were scurrying around with preparations, for Youth Camp,
and for our pastor to arrive, from the states. Dr. Jerry Siler,
arrived in our city Jogyakarta, on the 24th of June.. He
came to Indonesia, with a member of our home church, and a
friend of ours, from Indonesia, Dr Luke. . We met Preacher
at the airport ,and had a luncheon for him, with several of
our co workers present. The following day, we drove to another city,
Sala tiga, and Pastor preached for Pdt Yohanes Solman at Cornerstone
Baptist Church.. There was a nice crowd present, and the
sermon was such a blessing. An older man received Christ.
Praise the Lord! The next day , Pastor preached
for Pdt Thomas Atung, here in Jogya. Hearts were so touched.
Then, we drove to Purworejo, and Pastor preached for Pdt Robin.
Again, what a blessing. The following morning, Pastor Jerry
had a seminar at our Bible Institute Dr. Luke was able to be there.
All who attended the Seminar were blessed. That night, we
prepared for last minute details for Youth Camp. And,
the following morning, we were off to a mountain area for our Youth
Camp. Many were not able to come this year, due to classes not
being out etc. But, we do Praise the Lord, for about 120 that came.
My, how all were blessed. Pastor Jerry preached from his
heart. The Holy Spirit was leading. It was an awesome
event. On the last night of the Youth Camp, when
the alter call was given, you could have heard a pin
drop, as young people, and Pastors and their wives as well, got up
in unison, and came to the altar, and got on their knees to pray.
Tears flowed. Hearts got right with God. Many
said, it was the best Youth Camp , we have ever had! The
preaching was great! The spirit was sweet! The food was good!
The fellowship and the games were such fun! The day our youth
camp ended, we took Preacher to the airport, for his return trip, to
Jkt, and then home. We want to say a special word of Thanks to our
home church, Cornerstone Baptist Temple in Dayton, Ohio for sending
our pastor, Dr Jerry Siler to minister to us, and with us. We
still feel like we are on top of the mountain, due to the blessings
we received! Thank you Preacher for the great blessing you
were, to each of us!!
Another special event, that happened in June: our oldest
grandie, Cory graduated from High School. (It was very hard not to
be able to be present for her big day.) Cory will be attending
college in Pa. and plans to become a Dr. of Psychology.
Please pray for her. Pray for our other grandies as well. Ben,
age 14 will start High School this year, Alex age 10 moved up
another grade, as did Maggie, and our youngest Katie will be in
First grade, this year. And, on June 17th, we celebrated our 50th
wedding anniversary. So far there have been 3 times of celebration
for us, and another one ( the last one ) is planned for August 2nd
So, even though we were not able to be with our children, and our
grandchildren, as we would have loved to be, still God blessed
again, and again. In another letter, we will share the
blessings with you.
Please be in prayer for the church in Purworejo, the Faith Baptist
Church, with Pdt Robin as their pastor. They need a bldg. At
present, they still go from home to home. This has been going
on for many years. From this church, the church up the
mountain had its start, (they have their own bldg) (Pastor
Yohanes Solman in Salatiga is from this church. He has his own
building, for the church there in Sala tiga). But, this little
core of people, still wander from home to home. Would you
please pray, as to if God would have you give a one time offering,
or a monthly gift, to help this church purchase their own bldg?
They have a bldg that is a possibility for them to purchase,
and the cost would be $10.000.00 The
Israelite people wandered for 40 years, before they
entered the Promised Land. This core of faithful believers
have wandered for about 34 years, from home to home. How about
it? Will you pray for them? Will you give? No gift
would be too small. With God, all things are possible!
Concerning our Bible Institute, needs are still great. But,
Praise the Lord, a church, is now enabling us to help
with the extra expenses, but just for one year. Please keep
praying, the needs will be supplied.
Thanks so much for your love and prayers, for our ministry. To
God be the glory! It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus!
His for souls, Dave and Carole Ross, Indonesia
