Pray for the Rosses Serving in Indonesia
Sent by Cornerstone Baptist Temple, ( Pastor Jerry Siler)
Sent through W.B.F. Mission Agency, Arlington, Texas
April, May, June 2006
Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
We are so thankful to each of you for making our furlough such a
memorable one. Our home church, Cornerstone Baptist Temple, Pastor
Jerry Siler was so good to us. We received many blessings from
them, including being able to stay in our churches very lovely mission
house for the entire time we were home.
Furlough for us afforded happy and sad times. Happy times when
we gathered with our children and grandchildren and friends, and when our
5th grandchild, Katie was born on April 1,2005, and sad times when Carole's
step Mother Julia Curtis, and her sister Darlene Chappelear passed away.
But, we know they are both with the Lord, and that gives us comfort.
We traveled many miles while in the states, and had a few accidents,
including hitting a deer which totaled our car, but God brought us safely
through. We are thankful to Jeff Blackburn for seeing that we had a
good car to drive. We were in many churches and were treated
very well, and it was so good to make new friends and to be with old
friends once again. A special thanks to our friends Sandy and
Forrest Fogle, who were always there for us, if we needed them.
Shortly before we left the states, the Dr. thought Carole had cancer, but
a day before our departure from Dayton the lab report came in, and Praise
the Lord, it was not cancer. Carole was asked to be
checked again in 6 months to be very sure. On the way back to
Indonesia, we stopped in Singapore to await our visa, and stayed with
our friends, Dan and Sharon Moore. They were also a blessing to us.
With visa in hand, we returned to Indonesia on March 5, 2006.
Our works are doing well for which we praise the Lord. Please pray
about a need to have a church building for our people in Yogyakarta. For
about $20,000 we could purchase an older bldg and renovate it. Any part
you could have in this endeavor would be a real blessing to our people and
to us.
We have 2 very special needs for you to pray about. #1, Mt Merapi,
the volcano located about 10 miles from us is slowly erupting. This
has been going on for about 2 weeks and they are expecting a major
eruption any day. We are praying for Gods intervention. #2.
The new proposal for churches is that a church could not meet in a rented
facility, or a home, would need 90 members to start a church, and would
have to have 60 people from different faiths agree with you starting a
church in the area. Needless to say, if this proposal goes into
effect ( it has already been in process in some areas) it will cause a
very real hardship on our churches.
Thanks again for all of you that did so much to make our furlough so
special including our pastor and his wife, our church, our supporting
churches, our mission office, our sisters and brothers, and last but
certainly not least, our sons and their wives , and our 5 beautiful grand
children.
We are so happy to be back in Indonesia. Pray for our churches, and our
Bible Institute and for our people, as well as for us.
