News  from  the Rosses in Indonesia

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,

We are now 3 months into our brand new year---2004.  We are very thankful for Gods blessings. and for your prayers and support for our ministry, here in Indonesia.  It is almost time here for election of a new president, and there are 24 parties running. So far , the police are doing a great job of keeping things in hand.  Do pray that things will continue to run smoothly, and that the new  president will be receptive to Christians.

The daughter  of Bp. Julius received Christ as her Savior,  for which we are thankful.  Bp. Julius resigned as pastor of the church in Jogya, and Bp Tomas and his wife Zeny are now serving the Lord in the Jogya church.  We have moved to another building in Jogya, which we were able to rent for two  years.  We have changed the name of the church to the Agape Independent Baptist Church of Jogya.  There  is now a sweet loving spirit,  and we are so thankful, God is blessing and we have had several visitors lately.  We have a lady that is to be baptized  soon, and we are thankful for her salvation.

Bp. Tomas is a recent graduate of our Bible Institute in Purworejo.  He and Zeney were married on Feb 5th and it was our privilege  to stand  in as Bp. Tomas's parents, as his folks live on another island, and were not able to attend the wedding.  Zeny is also from another island, and our good  friends, Bp and Ibu Jonathan took the  place of her parents.  It was a beautiful wedding and we were so happy to be a part of it.  I preached, and married them as well.

Bp. Robin from the Faith Independent Baptist Church in Cangkip/Purworejo is doing well.  He, his wife, and little girl have all been ill with various ailments, that included hospital stays for each of them.  Pray for his wife, Ibu Mae as their  2nd child is due any time.  Last week after visitation, we stopped for a bite to eat, and a young  man Andie age `17, that  we have known for quite some time, joined us, while we waited  for the food.  Andie, began to question us  about the Bible, and we answered him, and gave him a little tract on Peace   with God.  He read it over several times, and also read Bible verses that we shared with him.  We asked him if he would like to accept Jesus and he said, Yes, he would.  He bowed his head, and asked Jesus into  his heart.  We praise  the Lord  for his salvation.  Please pray for Andie, and for the follow up lessons.

Bp. Yohanes Solmon in Solatiga needs your help to finish his church building.  Everything is now on hold, as the money is gone.  Since it is rainy season here, things  will deteriorate quickly, if the building is not finished.  Please pray.  Pray for a dear lady in his church from another faith.  She began coming to ladies meeting, and last month, Carole was privileged to lead her to the Lord.  Please pray for her, as she begins her new life with Christ.

Our Bible Institute in Purwejo, and in the extension schools are doing fine.  Please pray for our students ,  and for the teachers  as well.  What  a wonderful opportunity to teach these young  people, that they might then go out, and teach their own  people about Gods Word.

In closing,  we say thanks so much for your part in our work here in Indonesia.  May God bless each of you is our prayer. Yesaya 40:31
