Hello from across the world.  Wishing each of you a Happy and Blessed New Year. Thanks so much to those of you that sent us a card/ gift  for Christmas.  What a blessing !

As we shared with you in our last letter, two of the churches we work with need their own bldg.  In this letter, we will focus on the church in Purworjo. The Faith Baptist Church . This church began as a mission, many years ago with Robert Schmidt.  We took it over, when the Schmidts returned to the states.  They have met for many years in homes, and rented facilities.  The people long for a  place of their own. We have an opportunity to purchase a new bldg. in a housing complex, where the church could have their own bldg.  It is a simple bldg with one large room, two small rooms and a bath room, with enough land to add on at a later time.  The pastor Robin, his wife Mae and their 2 little girls Fenny and Lisa would live there. The cost would be $12,000  It can be broken up into $1,500 down and $ 700 per month for twelve years. Will you please pray about helping with this very real need?  The people in this church are from the village. The location of the bldg is in an area where there is hope for new growth.  Already there is a possibility of two families, if we are able to purchase this place. If 20 churches would give $500 each, we would have $10,000 of the amount needed.  Please keep this in your prayers. From the Faith Baptist Church, we have a church up in the mountains now indigenous.  We have a church in Salatiga  whose pastor is a former member of The Faith Baptist church, and we have a church in the city of Jogya, started as a mission out of Faith Baptist Church. These people have proved their faithfulness, down through the years.  Please keep them in prayer and if God should touch your heart, give for their bldg.  Thank you in advance. They have two young people recently saved; who will soon follow the Lord in baptism.

Important Announcement Carole's older sister Joyce is having some problems, health wise etc. and we need to make a trip home in order to try to help her get settled into assisted care.  This is not our scheduled furlough time; but it is very necessary.  Please pray with us, as we will arrive in Ohio towards the end of Feb. and our plan is to be in the states for two months, to get her resettled (the manager of her apartment says she is no longer capable of being on her own)There are many things involved in this matter; and we covet your prayers.  We borrowed the money to come home on, and hope to be able to quickly pay this back. We had no car to drive, but thank the Lord Jeff Blackburn is going to loan us a car for the time we are home. Thanks to Grace Baptist Church , we will have a mission apartment to stay in for part of the time we are home.  If you know of a mission room or apartment in the Dayton area, let us know. (Our scheduled furlough is in Feb of 2010 and we will be coming home at that time for 6 months furlough). Please keep this entire matter in prayer and pray especially for Joyce.  Thank you.
