Dear Praying Friends,

As we begin the month of May, we here at the Mission Office are preparing for the World Baptist Fellowship Annual Meeting that will take place on the Arlington Baptist College campus May 12-15, 2008.  I love the meetings because they give us the opportunity to see and fellowship with dear friends from around the country, and around the world.   This year’s meeting will feature an ABC “Friends and Family” reunion and we are hoping to see a great host of friends.

I appreciate your ongoing prayers for my recovery from the hip replacement surgery.   I am doing well; still having a little pain when I walk, but it is getting better each day.   I am hoping for a complete recovery by summer because I have been invited to Wales for a missionary retreat with our missionaries from England, Wales, Scotland, and hopefully some other European countries.  I certainly want to be in good shape for this special time of fellowship.

As we serve our missionary families, we see many of them struggling financially due to the continued devaluation of the U. S. dollar in comparison with other currencies.  Many, if not most, of our missionaries have lost about 50% of their buying power due to the dollar’s fall.  We try to encourage them and remind them that the Lord will provide their needs as they seek to do His will in their service for Him.   All our missionaries need our intercessory prayers.

In addition to your prayers for my recovery, please be in prayer for Linda.  She has some medical tests upcoming and it appears that she will have to undergo gallbladder surgery in the near future.  Pray that she will do well. 

We appreciate your faithfulness to us in prayer and financial support.  We began our relationship with many of our supporting churches in 1970 when we were first approved as WBF missionaries and it has been a precious relationship through these many years.  We are grateful for each church that supports us and each Christian who prays for us.
