TERRY and TAMI MORSE
WBF Missionaries to
FRANCE
August 27, 2003
Dear Friends,
Today Tami and I went to Modane for the weekly Bible Study with Stepan and
Lusine, our Armenian friends. As I have mentioned in the past, we gave them a
Bible in Armenian (gift from a Baptist Church near Paris, Missionary Paul
Dédéyan), then our church here in St. Remy de Maurienne took up a love
offering and bought them 2 dictionaries, French to Armenian, and Armenian to
French. We had to go to Lyon to get them. Then we gave them a French Bible.
They
are learning French, and are still very much in the beginning stages of the
language. This is the third Bible Study we have had, and usually we can cover
only several verses at a time.
We have good news; Stepan made a profession of faith in Christ
today! Lusine says that she was saved at the age of 16, and she showed to
us a tract that she has, with the sinner's prayer in it. Stepan went over it in
French with us, then prayed in Armenian, asking the Lord to save
him. Please continue to pray for this precious couple, for their
growth in Christ and the French language.
As well, Tami had a Bible study with Madame Clappier Sunday evening.
After
Tami presented the Gospel, she said that she already accepted Christ, and that
it was very clear to her now. We still have a question or two, but she insists
that she is saved, but cannot give a time or day, just that she knows that she
has done so. As I mentioned some time ago, she told Tami that she has prayed to
Jesus, and was certain that He heard her prayer, not like when she prayed other
times. Well, she was raised in a Catholic Convent, so you understand how she
might think. She loves to have Tami come and read the Bible and pray with her.
Sylviane, her daughter packed away, (on purpose?) the Bible that our church gave
her, the one with large letters, as she is nearly 78 years old and does not see
as well as when younger. Please continue to pray for Tami and her witness and
studies with Madame Clappier.
God bless you all for praying. It makes all the difference in the world to
some of the people here in the Alps of France.
