WBF Missionaries to
FRENCH POLYNESIA

Dear
Friends,
Tami arrived several days ago, no problems with all the connecting
flights other than the 36 hours it took to get here.
She has been cleaning since arriving, that will make the third time we
have done so in order to get rid of the mold and mildew on the boat.
We lost quite a few books, some clothes, some Bibles, and some equipment.
This hurricane hole was great during the storms, but since it rains
nearly every day, and the humidity is so very high, the boat was really a
disaster.
We are restarting the Bible studies with four different households :
André and Rosalie, Poyo, Frederick, and Bernard.
We in restarting the services in Papeete this Sunday, but it poses a
problem that we are in Taravao, abut 35 miles from the city.
André moved and is now only 10 miles from here, so he would prefer we
have services here, but finding a building is difficult.
I checked on one today, but it is quite expensive to rent.
It is 4 times the price of the one in Papeete and smaller.
I most likely will start door to door here in this village
for the time being, as it takes us 1 ˝ hour by bus to get to the city.
At this point, there is no place at the marina there, being high season
for boats coming into the islands.
Another problem is with the boat. We
have several churches that sent in money to repair it, which for the most part
we have set aside. We did use some
for the boat already, but the bid is a bit higher than we figured,
nearly $5,500. So we will
see what to do about that. As well,
Tobijah, my first mate, is staying in Michigan to help his oldest sister this
year. He would have had to come home on Marc h 3rd next year, when he
turns 18, but the decision we would have had to made then is necessary to make
now. I cannot sail the boat by
myself, and even if I did, Tami surely cannot.
If something happens to me, she would be in a very difficult situation.
I failed to take this into consideration several years ago when we
started this ministry. It is all
part of the learning curve, since we are the first here, we get to learn
everything the hard way. Well, we
have been praying for help, but so far none have stepped forward.
We will have to make a decision soon about that part of the ministry.
We plan on returning to Huahine in the next month or so.
We are just getting back into the work, and it takes time to get up and
running again. Bernard wants us over there, and of all those saved, he has shown
the most potential for the ministry.
We appreciate your prayers and your support.
We sure need you all!
Pray for souls during the next visitation this week.
God bless you and yours.
