Dear Friends,
We start work on the new "salle" this coming Monday.  The owner has it full of furniture, and we will move it all into his garage this coming Monday.  But that means tomorrow, Saturday, I need to help him put the garage door on.  That should only take a few hours.
We have already taken down the two walls in the building, to make it large enough for the services.  I believe that we could put 60 - 70 chairs in there if needed, but of course the church is still much smaller than that.  It will be good to have a larger place, though, for our church dinners.  Here in France we have found that people will come to the dinners we put on, but in the past we always have been limited to under 30 people.  I am still amazed at how well the Lord fulfulled the need for a larger salle, we are still here at St. Remy, but we are now accepted here too.  That is a big deal here in France.  I remember when we first moved here the reaction of some people.  They would ask the owners of the bar next to us, "Why did you sell to that Baptist preacher?"  But now, after 8 years, the church is accepted.
Please continue to pray for Francis, Isabelle's husband.  She said that now when they pray before eating, he makes sure he is there.  I know, it seems like a small step, but for him, a large one and very encouraging to us.  Pray also for the owner of the building we are renting from,  Denis Rault.  He is very nice, from Paris, 45 years old, and is much more open minded than the people of the Maurienne.  He did say something that I thought was odd.  He came to our Men's breakfast a few weeks back, and Solofo mentioned that the teens all did well in the school exams here, and that we prayed the Lord would help them all pass.  Denis said, "Isn't that cheating?"  (To have God help on a test!"  Well,  I said if you don't believe in God, the point is moot.  Solofo said that God doesn't have to respond favorable.  How about you?  Would you ever have thought that praying was "cheating?"
Ah well, thanks for your prayers!   God bless you and yours,
