Easter 2004
Dear Friends,
Saturday before Easter, the 10th, Tami had a 2 hour
party for kids. We had 8 come, ages 8 - 12. This was a great
encouragement to us, that several couples would entrust their children to us for
the Easter lesson, plus a time of games and snacks. One child did not know
who God was. Can you imagine that? I though everyone knew who God
was, but they did not know, for example, that it was he who created the
universe, a supreme being who we worship. She knew nothing, as if you
would had asked her who the King of Thailand 300 years ago. Her brother
was the same of course. Well, that should not be a surprise, their father
claims to be an atheist.
Sunday we had music with the piano, clarinet, cello,
and several voice specials. I did a chalk drawing of the open tomb, with
Mary M. looking back in surprise (at Jesus) who is hidden in the sky, and
did not appear until the lights were out and the black light turned on.
Our regular folks were there, plus Isabelle, Francis and their three children.
We covet your continued prayers for this family. Isabelle is asking good
questions, and we believe she is really searching, and trying to figure out the
difference between us and the Catholics. As well, I went to Modane,
(40 minutes up the valley, where we have started one service a month) to bring
Stepan, Lusine, Monika, and Laura, and Mrs. Guerra to the Easter Service.
Please pray for Jacky Bonnissent as well. He needs to find a job in the
afternoon to be able to finish his schooling at the Bible Institute in the north
of France. He will finish in December, and then plans to return here, the
Lord willing.
God bless you all.
